Here’s the featured new releases for Wednesday, September 25th, 2019!

MARVEL TITLES

Absolute Carnage moves forward with two new crossovers this week, Amazing Spider-Man #30 and Absolute Carnage Miles Morales #2!

The covers pretty much sell themselves.

We’ll also have 4th prints of Absolute Carnage #1, 2nd prints of #2 and more 1st prints of #3.

Powers of X #5 is this week.

Just a reminder that Thursday, October 10th at 8:15pm is our first ever book club, and we’ll be covering the whole House of X and Powers of X series since it will conclude with Powers of X #6 on the 9th. We’re be covering each issue briefly, looking for stuff you may not have known. We’ll also bring some conceptual questions to the floor, so be ready to get into a little philosophy. We don’t know everything about these books, and we don’t pretend to. We’re looking to learn something from you all as well!

I’m excited about New Mutants War Children One-shot, featuring the original crew written by Chris Claremont with art by Bill Sienkiewicz!

We’re still on this amazing quest to get Claremont to FCBD, say stay tuned long term for that.

DC TITLES

The big DC Book this week is Harleen #1, and new three-issue Black Label Mini Series written and painted by Stejpan Sejic!

According to DC “The road to hell is paved with good intentions. On that road, I saw a pale man, and he smiled at me…” Dr. Harleen Quinzel has discovered a revolutionary cure for the madness of Gotham City-she just needs to prove it actually works. But with the criminal justice and mental health establishments united against her, the brilliant young psychologist must take drastic measures to save Gotham from itself. Witness Harleen’s first steps on a doomed quest that will give birth to the legendary super-villain Harley Quinn in this stunning reimagining of Harley and The Joker’s twisted and tragic love affair.”

DC also has two new Original Graphic Novel this week. Batman Nightwalker for Young Adults, and Secret Spiral of Swamp Kid for younger readers.

These books are from DC’s INK and ZOOM lines respectively.

SMALL PRESS

BOOM Studios is restarting their Dark Crystal Comics to coincide with the release of the new Netflix show, which is pretty great.

Dark Crystal Age of Resistance is a prequel to the show’s prequel of the movie. Wrap your head around that.

Check out the show for real, it’s beautiful to watch.

Lastly, mark your calendar for Halloween Comic Fest this year on Saturday, October 26th! People in costume get free comics and candy, you can check out the books here!
