New Releases for 3-10-2021 at CNJComics

First up we’d like to thank everyone for a very successful Winston World. We did great, and we hope everyone got some really great deals on stuff.

Expect an entirely new back issue wall this week as we go back to our standard 25% discount!

Also look around the shop for a few new sections, like our “Try Something New and Independent” display, where we showcase indie books that are great entry level reads the staff personally loves. This includes both #1 issues and graphic novels. Also we’ve made a display of the top 60 DC graphic novels, which we also put together ourselves. Let us know if you think something is missing that should be there! (but keep in mind quite a few books that would have made our cut are out of print.) We are also slowly expanding our Manga selection by popular demand. (It’s a slow roll as books are really hard to find.)

Anyway, let’s get on to this week’s featured new releases!

MARVEL COMICS

Amazing Spider-Man #61 and #62 feature a brand new costume, designed by Dustin Weaver with help from Nick Spencer and editor Nick Lowe. (he used to be a Wedneday regular!)

Spidey’s using the costume to go up against the Kingpin and issue #61 comes out this week.

Spider-Man also gets a new ongoing with Non-Stop Spiderman #1.

As the name implies, this book is non stop action from page one, written by Joe Kelly and drawn by Chris Bachalo!

Deadpool’s hit his nerdy 30 in a new one shot full of creators through out all of his incarnations.

Names like Joe Kelly, Skottie Young, Fabian Nicieza, Gail Simone, Daniel Way, Gerry Duggan and of course Rob Liefeld.

Welcome a brand new team of “sidekicks” in X-Men Children of the Atom #1. We expect this to be the same kind of hit as Strange Academy as we’re meeting a team of entirely new characters.

It’s time to give another shout out to Immortal Hulk. Always a great time, this issue has the U-Foes (who I have a soft spot for), Sasquatch and Henry Peter Gyrich! (pictured on the cover, you either know him or you don’t from Avengers #181 and beyond.)

Seriously, jump on this book and go back and read everything. Ask anyone!

DC COMICS

DC’s Infinite Frontier continues with Joker #1 by James Tynion IV!

Jim Gordon is being paid to do the one thing Batman couldn’t, kill the Joker. I’ve read it and it’s really good. Punchline back up too!

Batman also gets a new anthology book with Batman Urban Legends #1.

Stories by the likes of Chip Zdarsky and Matt Rosenberg, featuring Red Hood, Harley, the Outsiders and Grifter.

INDIE COMICS

This week’s big indie book is Proctor Valley Road from BOOM Studios and Grant Morrison!

“August, Rylee, Cora & Jennie have organized a “Spook Tour” with their classmates on the most haunted, demon-infested stretch of road in America to fund attending the concert of their dreams. When their visit turns deadly, these four friends race to rescue the missing students… before the town tears them limb from limb. Now they must slay the evils roaming Proctor Valley Road… along with the monsters lurking in the hearts of 1970s America.”

I love horror stuff set in the 70’s!

That’s it for this week! Thanks one more time for all the support!
