New Releases and New CoVid measures at CNJComics 5-19-2021

Just a quick one again this week!

Starting off we’d like to remind everyone that we still have our CoVid measures in place until June 2nd. The CDC guidelines are only causing confusion and are really impossible to enforce without checking papers at the door. (which we are not doing.) We’re going with the law of the land in Ohio just as we have been all along. Rest assured that we will be lifting all health measures on Wednesday June 2nd as permitted by the Governor of Ohio. We’ve come really far and we’re in the home stretch so please help us out for two more weeks. Anyone who wishes to keep wearing masks after that will not be disrespected in our shop, do what you need to do to feel safe. Even with the social distancing measures lifted let’s all give each other a little extra space this summer until we come down a bit from what happened. As always, be cool. If there’s anything we can do to make the transition more comfortable, please let us know. We will continue curbside and any measures that help you get your comics in a way that is safe to you.

On to the featured New Releases for Wednesday, May 19th, 2021!

The boys and I loved Spider-Man Life Story, and now we’re equally excited for Fantastic Four Life Story #1.

A six issues mini series of the FF’s origin told in real time, with each issue spanning a decade. The fact that Mark Russell is writing it really seals the deal.

The Immortal Hulk Time of Monsters One Shot features the first published story by David Vaughan, Brian K Vaughan’s brother!

With the trailer out everyone has Shang-Chi fever, so a new mini series pitting him against the entire Marvel Universe is a sure winner!

Oh hey let’s check out that trailer:

The new Wonder Girl is from Boise Idaho, and her new ongoing series debuts this week.

Written and drawn by Joelle Jones, which is cool.

If you’ve missed the first two issues of Tom Taylor’s Nightwing we’ll have reprints soon, but for now issue #80 will have to do.

This book is a shop favorite and is doing really well for DC too.

Legends of the Dark Knight will be a new anthology featuring stories from classic and up and coming creators.

We’ll start with classic, as Boys and Transmetropolitan co creator Darick Robertson writes and draws the first issue!

That’s it for this week! Thanks everyone!

It’s never too late to start thinking about Free Comic Book Day!
