Featured New Releases for 9-28-2016
First off, we’d like to thank everyone who attended our after-party for the Wonder Woman Symposium!
Attendance exceeded our expectations and we had a great time. Where else could you drink for free at a Wonder Woman bar while hanging out with William Moulton Marston‘s grand daughter? (who’s presence was a highlight of the event.) Much gratitude to our local and visiting artists as well.
HALLOWEEN COMIC FEST
Save the date for out next big event, Halloween Comic Fest on Saturday, October 29th. Free comics, photo ops, candy and more. (We actually won the Diamond Best Practices Award for this event in 2015)

FEATURED NEW RELEASES
On to the featured new releases for September 28th, 2016:
To keep with the Wonder Woman theme (It is her 75th anniversary all year after all) there are some well timed items ironically coming out this week.
First off is an all new original Wonder Woman hardcover by multiple Eisner award winner and Kent State local Jill Thompson.
Wonder Woman The True Amazon is a fresh take on Princess Diana’s origin, showing a more spoiled demeanor in need of restraint and redemption. Beautifully illustrated by Jill, she’s been working on this project for years.
Also this week is a new set of action figures based on Darwyn Cooke’s artwork, including one of Wonder Woman.
Other characters include Green Lantern, Flash and Catwoman. We’re also getting new DC Icon figures for John Stewart Green Lantern and Firestorm. (we’ve recently restocked our DC action figure selection as well. Come check it out!)
DC’s also released a deluxe hardcover celebrating the best Wonder Woman stories from the last seven decades. Only $39.99.
Last week we were shorted our Civil War II #5’s, but they are in and ready to be enjoyed.
The split between sides grows larger as one of Ulysses’s predictions puts a beloved character in a tough situation. We’ve got the usual lithographs to go with the issue, as well as FREE Marvel Now preview books for all the new titles and story lines that are coming up. (For once, there’s some really good previews in there that at least paint of picture of what’s to come.)
We also thought this week’s Deadpool Annual looked fun, with a rip of the old 80’s cartoon, Spider-Man and his Amazing Friends.
DC Rebirth successfully moves along this week with Teen Titans Rebirth #1, Blue Beetle #1 and Batman Beyond Rebirth #1.
Teen Titans looks especially cool this week, as Damian Wayne essentially leads the Teen Titans Go team with Kid Flash in place of Cyborg.
Archie releases another grown up reboot this week with Josie and the Pussycats #1 by Marguerite Bennett. (We’re even rolling around an idea about a beer pairing event to draw attention to some of these under rated and very fun titles.)
That’s it for this week. Thanks again for all the support!
