Hey everyone, John D here, and I’ll be writing the weekly emails for a few weeks while Andrea is convalescing after surgery. (Everything went fine, no worries.) I’m excited to get the chance to do this again after so many years, so let’s get going… Save the date for this month’s Late Nite Comics on August 21st! We’ve decided to continue the format of last August’s Late Nite with another “CNJComics Gives Back” theme. All dollar stock sales that night, 8pm to midnight, will be donated to GenghisCon to help with expenses for their indie creator convention in November. It’s an important cause to us because it helps local creators to have a platform to showcase their work. We love our local comic art scene, and we’re happy to help when we can. All back issues will also be half off that night, and that includes the wall books. Dollar stock will be the standard 50 cents each for a hundred or more. Hit that hundred bookmark! Happy fifth Wednesday, Comic Shop Friends! It’s a small week, which is nice after our busy weekend sale! Before we get to the events coming up in August, I wanted to let you know that John will be taking over the newsletter for a month (after next week) because I’ll be out of the shop to recover from surgery. I do appreciate you all taking the time to read this every week, and thank you to the people who mentioned they enjoy the newsletter when they were in the shop this weekend! First up! On Sunday, August 3rd, John will be set up at NEO Comic Con! This is probably the only show he’s doing this year, so stop out! 10 am to 4 pm! Hello Comic Shop Friends! How psyched are you for Fantastic Four: First Steps this Friday? It looks like it’s going to be fantastic! (Haha.) We are blessed with comic book films this month! I’m loving all the 1960s-themed promotion Marvel is doing! It’s a smaller week for new books, so it’s a great week to set aside some time and come shop our sale! Starting this Thursday! It’s our annual Not at Comic Con Sale! From Thursday the 24th through Sunday the 27th we’ll have 50% off all back issues, including the wall! You can take 10% off everything else in the shop, so grab those supplies you need! The foyer will be stuffed with dollar stock, and if you get 100 or more they will only be 50 cents each!
