Running through issues #22-#24 of All New X-Men and issues #11-#13 of Guardians of the Galaxy, this entire story will be written by Brian Michael Bendis giving it a nice even flow. Hearkening back to story lines like the Death of Jean Grey in Uncanny X-Men #137, or The Trial of Reed Richards in Fantastic Four #262, this is a great time to start reading both series as this is also an ALL NEW MARVEL NOW starting point, meaning complete accessibility for new readers! If you haven’t hopped on the Guardians of the Galaxy train, now’s the time. The movie is set to be released August 1st this year, and Free Comic Book Day will feature two different GOTG titles this year.

Each issue will also feature some great variants by Dale Keown from The Hulk and Pitt! Here’s the one from All New X-Men #23!

Also from All New Marvel Now this week is the release of The All New Invaders #1 by Steven Pugh and James Robinson of Starman fame!

"All_New_Invaders_1"

James Robinson will do what he does best, writing modern tales about Golden Age Heroes! The Invaders were originally a team from World War II brought together to fight the Axis Empire. This time they’re up against the Kree army! We won’t have the Young Variant for this but we will offer a FREE Skottie Young Lithograph to everyone who buys a copy!

"Allnew_invadersyoung"

Other ALL NEW MARVEL NOW releases this week include Avengers #25, Avengers World #2, and Black Widow #2! Oh yeah, a new issue of Hawkeye will be out too!

DC Comics two best selling comics will also have new issues coming out this week, Batman #27 and Justice League #27!

"Batman_27"

Right now Batman is working it’s way through a popular redefining of Batman’s origin stretching from Batman #21-#33! Ask at the shop and we can help set you up with all the issues to catch you up in this incredibly popular run!

"Justice_League_27"

Over in Justice League, Geoff John’s is writing what I consider to be the best story so far from DC New 52. This story has ties to DC’s history while also making itself available to new readers. Really fun stuff tying into Forever Evil. Again ask any of our staff to help get you caught up on this series.

Other highlights this week from DC include Birds Of Prey (Gothtopia), Harley Quinn #2, a Planetary Omnibus (Warren Ellis / John Cassidy classic, highly recommended), and the comic book version of DC’s new Scribblenauts game! Vertigo, DC adult line, is also offering the first issue of the new Unwritten comic, Unwritten Vol 2 Apocalypse #1!

Finally, we have a big release from Image Comics and the world of Small Press comics, Deadly Class #1!

"Deadly_Class_1"

It’s 1987. Marcus Lopez hates school. His grades suck. He has no money. The jocks are hassling his friends. He can’t focus in class, thanks to his mind constantly drifting to the stunning girl in the front row and the Dag Nasty show he has tickets to. But the jocks are the children of Joseph Stalin’s top assassin, the teachers are members of an ancient league of assassins, the class he’s failing is “Dismemberment 101,” and his crush, a member of the most notorious crime syndicate in Japan, has a double-digit body count.

Welcome to the most brutal high school on Earth, where the world’s top crime families send the next generation of assassins to be trained. Murder is an art. Killing is a craft. At King’s Dominion High School for the Deadly Arts, the dagger in your back isn’t always metaphorical, nor is your fellow classmates’ poison.

Join writer RICK REMENDER with rising star WESLEY CRAIG (Batman) and legendary colorist LEE LOUGHRIDGE (Fear Agent) to reminisce about the mid-1980’s underground through the eyes of the most damaged and dangerous teenagers on Earth.

Rick Remender’s been tearing it up with both mainstream titles from Marvel (Captain America, Uncanny Avengers) and Black Science from Image! We’re very excited to see what he does with this project!Other New Indie’s to look into this week are Bad Ass #1 and Hacktivist #1 from BOOM Studios, and a new My Little Pony title from IDW, MLP Friends Forever #1!

Here’s on more picture to let you know how far pop culture has come over the last few years! Only $29.99!

That’s it and we’ll see you this week at the Comic Book Shop!
