This Saturday and Sunday, we\u2019re running a Winston World Sale! Somehow, we forgot about Winston World, which we usually run during FanExpo Cleveland, oops. Winter is over, we\u2019re doing some spring cleaning, and you\u2019re getting all the deals!  Stop in the shop on Saturday the 28th and Sunday the 29th for our yearly March sale before the month ends!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You’ll be able to get 50% off all back issues, including the wall. You’ll also be able to buy in-shop dollar stock for only 50 cents each with no qualifier. We won’t be bringing extra stock in, so it\u2019s limited to what\u2019s already in the store, but you never know what you’ll find in there!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We’ll also give 50% off our already discounted graphic novel bins. To be clear, only the sale graphic novels, as we need to clear out a little space in there.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We also need to clear out our storage locker a bit, so for the first time we’ll be offering $75 “blind bag” long boxes. We’ll stack some full long boxes in the shop and you can grab one for only $75. No peeking! Who doesn\u2019t love a mystery box?<\/p>\n\n\n

The main story from Mark Waid and Jorge Jimenez has Clark Kent and Peter Parker chasing the same story. A story that involves Doctor Octopus and Brainiac working together! Can Superman and Spider-Man stop the two brainy bad boys from unleashing a virus into everyone on Earth? Can they do it before they\u2019re infected themselves?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Then it\u2019s onto the seven short stories!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

First, Lois Lane and Mary Jane find themselves hanging off a bridge as Superman and Spider-Man fight a Sentinel, but these ladies don\u2019t need rescuing. As they discuss their lives with their superhero partners, they find it\u2019s good to talk to someone else who understands what it\u2019s like. \u201cThe World\u2019s Finest\u201d from Tom King and Jim Lee also features an appearance from everyone\u2019s favorite Cajun mutant!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Second, Christopher Priest and Daniel Sampere take Superboy Prime and the Amazing Spider-Man from the \u201cPages\u201d of comic books and into a multi-dimensional adventure! Peter finds someone checking out his black suit, and that someone is Superboy. He knows all about Spider-Man from his collection of comics, and he knows he needs that Spider-Sense to break out of the astral plane cage he\u2019s trapped in.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Third, travel \u201cBeyond the Cobwebs of Tomorrow\u201d in Sean Murphy\u2019s tale of time travelers. Superboy and Spider-Man 2099 go back to stop LexCorp and Alchemax to save the future! With some help from Batman Beyond!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Fourth, my favorite of this issue is \u201cJimmy Con Carnage\u201d from Matt Fraction and Steve Lieber! Superman\u2019s Pal Jimmy Olsen moves to New York City and takes a new job at the Daily Bugle, where, of course, he\u2019s given the job of bringing J. Jonah Jameson pictures of Spider-Man. But then he runs into Carnage in a dark alley\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Fifth, Jonathan Kent and Ben Parker meet on \u201cThe Bridge\u201d in Jeff Lemire and Rafa Sandoval\u2019s short. Spider-Man thinks that he and Superman come from different worlds, but the men that raised them would disagree. Flashback to the time Ben Parker travelled through Kansas, and met Jonathan Kent!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sixth, the Daily Planet and the Daily Bugle examine journalistic \u201cBias\u201d as Lois Lane and J. Jonah Jameson go head-to-head on a talk show. Debating objectivity and neutrality, J. Jonah brings up his problems with Spider-Man, but Lois has him figured out. From Greg Rucka and Nicola Scott.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Seventh, my second favorite story in this one-shot is Gail Simone and Belen Ortega\u2019s \u201cBlind Date.\u201d The Punisher has worked his way into a job as a bouncer at an underground club, but when Karen Starr shows up to meet a blind date, it throws a wrench into Frank\u2019s plans to punish the clientele. She\u2019d rather fight Darkseid than be on this date, but a dull night out gets exciting when Power Girl joins Punisher\u2019s fight! And Power Girl gets Frank Castle to smile?!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A wonderful one-shot with something to like in each story, so give it a shot!<\/p>\n\n\n

The hardest hitting cover of the week. I\u2019m sad that there are only two more issues of Absolute Martian Manhunter, because this book is amazing and the collaboration between writer (Deniz Camp) and artist (Javier Rodriguez) is what all books should strive for. John is taking on the Agency. The Green Martian is still trapped and being studied. John\u2019s family is being taken over by a malevolent force. Can John survive the attack by Rainbow? Can the Martian survive the Agency\u2019s experiments? Can Bridget see through the smoke to escape the evil infiltrating her home?<\/p>\n\n\n

I love Absolute Wonder Woman so much. If you could marry a comic book, I would marry this one. Kelly Thompson is doing such an amazing job creating and building these characters, and Hayden Sherman\u2019s art and page layouts are exquisite. When Zatanna offers Diana her help, after previously binding her, will Diana be able to trust her? What are Zatanna\u2019s motives? Her help may be the only thing that can remove the curse her father placed on Wonder Woman. It\u2019s the Witch of the Wild Isle versus both Zatanna Zatara and Giovanni Zatara!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Invincible month continues! This Invincible Returns facsimile features the first appearance of Thragg, who is also debuting in season four of the Invincible animated series! This self-contained issue follows the shocking events of the Invincible War and the cataclysmic battle with Conquest, and leads into the Viltrumite War. New readers can jump in here, and old readers can add another Invincible issue to their collections! Written by Robert Kirkman, with artists Ryan Ottley and Cory Walker.<\/p>\n\n\n

But really, what other comics matter this week, when we get issue #2 of Florida Hippopotamus Cocaine Massacre!!! And what\u2019s that? The second print of issue #1 is out too?! Get that one-two punch of reading both issues back-to-back! Holy cow! Or should I say holy hippopotamus? This comic is a ridiculous satire from writer Fred Kennedy and artist James Edward Clark, and they are packing every panel in this four-issue mini-series with guns, violence, hippos, and hair! In this issue: learn the tragic backstory of Agent Nebraska, follow park employee Bea as she tries to save the guests, and watch the hippo rampage ramp up!
