Hey everyone, John here to go over some of the cool things we have going on over the next couple months! It’s enough that I dusted off my laptop to write this email!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We’ve gotten in so many collections over the summer that September’s theme is going to be a “Summer’s End Purge.” Let’s begin with this month’s Late Nite Comics!<\/p>\n\n\n

On Thursday, September 19th from 8 pm to midnight, we’re hoping to have 30+ new long boxes of dollar stock, so close to a full new comic book table of books. WHO KNOWS WHAT’S IN THERE! We need to make room, so you’ll be digging through some unprocessed stuff. We’ll also have the usual 50% off back issues, and that will include the wall and everything on it. It’s also the day after my birthday, so come on up and have a drink. (I know I will.)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Late Night Comics has been one of the best things we’ve come up with over the last few years. Over two years and still going strong. We add new back issues pretty much daily so every month you get to see new stuff. You also get to hang out with like-minded people, dollar diving, and talking comics. It’s something I really enjoy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We know not everyone can make it out for Late Nite Comics, so to end the summer, we’ll be having 50% off back issues all day on Saturday, September 21st. (yeah, yeah, the end of summer is actually the 22nd, but we have something going on that day already, keep reading!) Yes, this also includes the wall, and while we won’t have all the dollar stock out, I’ll try to make some Batman Dollar stock, since the 21st is also Batman Day!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Batman Day used to be about comic shops, now it’s kind of an all in for all types of Bat Media. But! We still have three free comics to give away on that day:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So stop in that day and you can have all three books for free! I have hundreds of each but as always come early in the day so that the odds are ever in your favor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There’s also some exclusive Bat Man Merch for sale that day, like new editions of Batman\/Elmer Fudd by Tom King, Detective #27, and Batman The Last Halloween #0. (these books are pretty limited, so do come early if you want those.)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To stimulate some sales that day we’re going to do things like we used to on Black Friday prepandemic, for every $10 you spend you’ll get a raffle ticket towards some huge Marvel Harcovers, each a $200 value!<\/p>\n\n\n

Since it’s Batman Day, we’ll also make a package of some Batman graphic novels you can win as well.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It’s be a basket raffle system, so you put the ticket in the basket for the book you want to win. No need to be present, we’ll pull the winners that night live on our facebook page and you’ll be notified if you win<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Free Comics at West Side Market<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

So what are we doing on September 22nd that’s so darn important? We’ll be setting up at the West Side Market and handing out free Superman Comic Books!<\/p>\n\n\n

This is our second year doing this, and last year the response was pretty great. Nothing like a Sunday afternoon at the West Side Market! From 10am to 2pm we’ll be giving out five free Superman comics per person, to help promote his rich history in Cleveland. We’re actually just part of an overall larger initiative that includes the Cleveland Public Library handing out free books as well. Dawn Arrington from Comics at the Corner will also be there handing out free comics!<\/p>\n\n\n

You will also be able to get a free 11 x 17 lithograph by Sina Grace showcasing the city, the market and the gesture.<\/p>\n\n\n

Here’s a link to some of the other organizations we’ve paired up with for this event: Comics, Community, and Cleveland: Framing the Future at the West Side Market – Rust Belt Humanities Lab<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Now on to October! On Sunday, October 6th we’ll be set up at the Jeff Harper show in Westlake at the Doubletree from 10 am to 4 pm. This is a great little show where the focus is on comic books. (where it should be!) It’s right up the street from my house and one of the only shows I do regularly. My family typically comes up to help me and I always enjoy that. ENERGON<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

We really like the current Image Energon comics, meaning Transformers, Void Rivals, Cobra Commander, Duke and Scarlett. The Transformers and GI Joe lines have been completely reinvigorated with great writers and stories. We had such a good time with our Sonic the Hedgehog event this summer that we decided to host a Transformers event on Saturday, October 19th! From 11 am to 1 pm we’ll have Bumblebee in the shop taking photos and meeting everyone!<\/p>\n\n\n

Well, actually outside the shop, since he’s pretty huge! We’ll also be handing out free copies of the current Transformers #1, we love Daniel Warren Johnson’s work on this book and wanted to share it with everyone! It’s on it’s 7th printing if you can believe that.<\/p>\n\n\n

We are also planning on giving away an exclusive art print that day by Erin Caruso, and we’re working on having her in-shop to sign it for you as well.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It’s also a really great day to come in and check out the whole Energon line, and we’ll have the inventory on those books stocked up for you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

HALLOWEEN<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Lastly, save the date for our yearly Halloween event on Saturday, October 26th from noon until 5 pm! You’ll be able to get free candy and comics that are created just for the day!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
