New Releases for 4-14-2021 at CNJComics

We’ll jump right into it! Here’s the featured new releases for Wednesday, April 14th, 2021!

MARVEL COMICS

Chip Zdarsky has been writing some cool stuff lately, and he’s proven his knowledge of Marvel history with books like Spiderman Life Story. This week he starts a new four issue mini series where we see what would have happened if Peter never gave up the black suit and became Venom!

Guardians of the Galaxy #13 debuts an all new line up and a new artist, with a story by Immortal Hulk’s Al Ewing!

DC COMICS

Over on the DC side, Tom Taylor begins a new five issue mini series with Batman The Detective #1

Bruce heads over to Europe with artwork by Andy Kubert!

Joker’s new series continues in issue #2 as James Gordon plans to hunt down and kill the Joker once and for all.

The Super Sons are back in a new seven issue mini series by Peter J. Tomasi.

INDIE COMICS

The big indie book this week is Locke and Key Sandman Hell and Gone #1, and yup, Neil Gaiman is writing this book with Steven King’s son Joe Hill.

On the indie front we’ve got Home #1 from Image Comics.

“When a young boy is torn away from his mother while seeking asylum at the U.S. border, something begins to change in him, and it isn’t just the trauma, anxiety, and guilt you’d expect. He doesn’t know it yet, but it’s the onset of superhuman abilities that will change his life forever.”

One we were excited about but apprently has a misprint is Jenny Zero #1.

“Meet Jenny Tetsuo, the hard drinkin’, hard partyin’ daughter of beloved superhero, Mega Commander Zero. After washing out as the military’s top kaiju killer, “Jenny Zero” now lives the celebutante life with her hotel heiress and publicist best friend, Dana Sheraton. But when the massive creatures return, Jenny must decide if she can sober up and save the world!” Sounds great!

KIDS COMICS

We’ve got a couple for the kids too!

The Batman and Scooby Doo Mysteries have the crew going back in time to Batman’s year one era to find his missing purple gloves!

Summer Adventure for Groot is another one of those excellent bedtime books for kids, we sell a ton of these!

NOT FREE COMIC BOOK DAY

Lastly, keep your calendar marked for “Not Free Comic Book Day” on May 1st and 2nd. (you know, the first Saturday in May.)

In case we weren’t clear this is not a full scale FCBD event, it’s just a big sale where we use an extra storefront to pull all the books out of our strorage locker and back room for only $1.00 each. (50 cents for 100 or more.) This is the first time we’ve pulled EVERYTHING out at once so get your lists ready. We’ll also have an in store sale that has yet to be determined. We will work towards having our full FCBD event on August 14th when the rest of the world is trying to get it together as well.

That’s it for this week! Thanks everyone!
