Carol and John’s Comic Shop is located on the west side of Cleveland in Kamm’s Plaza and we’ve been in business for over 35 years. After originally opening in a 1,600 square foot location on October 28th of 1990, we’re now at our third location within the plaza. We like to say the first was too small, the second was too big, and this one is just right!
We carry a large selection of both new single issues, and back issues. They’re organized first by company, Marvel, DC, and Small Press, and then alphabetically by title. We have a dedicated section for dollar stock, and are constantly adding to it. You can find key issues on the wall behind the counter, and newly added back issue collections on the case in front. Wednesday’s new releases are featured on the table right in the front of the shop, the week prior is on the endcap next to it, and recent months are on the Marvel, DC, and Small Press walls.
Over half the shop’s wall space is dedicated to graphic novels, trade paperbacks, and hardcovers. Again, they’re sorted by company first, then alphabetical by title. We carry a limited selection of manga, restocked quarterly. We also have a large all ages section for books appropriate for younger readers! We love getting new readers into comics!
We are proud to have a knowledgeable and well-rounded staff, and our goal is to help you find the comics you’re looking for through our varied interests, favorites, and our experience in the comic book industry. We say that everyone enjoys the hobby in their own way, but we love reading comics, and we want you to find something you enjoy reading too!
We’ve been voted Best Comic Shop in Cleveland multiple times, most recently in 2026’s Scene Magazine’s Best of Cleveland! The highest honor was when Winston won Best Shop Cat!
