Featured New Releases For 9-3-2025 at CNJComics
Hi everyone! John here again with the featured new releases coming out on Wednesday, September 3rd 2025.
First, here’s a heads up that we’ll be making our yearly appearance at the West Side Market on Sunday September 14th from 10am to 2pm, handing out free Superman Comics in conjunction with the Cleveland Public Library.
It’s great to be a part of anything at one of my favorite places in the city.
Also, mark your calendar for this month’s Late Nite Comics on Thursday, September 18th from 8pm to midnight. (It’s my birthday but I’ve got to work the fire job that day. :/ Whomp whomp.)
On to the new releases!
NEW RELEASES FOR SEPTEMBER 3RD
By far the biggest book this week is the new Batman #1 by Matt Fraction.
By the dream team of Matt Fraction and Jorge Jimenez. Fraction’s written some of my favorite books, amazing runs on Immortal Iron Fist and Hawkeye, as well as some incredible indie stuff. I’ve flipped through the book and the art is just stellar. This is the main Batman title for a bit so be sure to hop on board.
Also from DC is the new Adventures of Superman: Book of El #1, a twelve-issue series that continues Phillip Kennedy Johnson’s run from Future State and Action Comics. We’ve had Phillip in shop and he recently came out to Clevelanf for the Superman festivities this summer.
Amazing Spider-Man #11 is an extra-sized issue and a great starting point for new readers. We’ll be following two Spiders now, one running around New York with a bad attitude, and one just plain on the run in distant outer space. Find out how we got there in this issue.
Doctor Strange #450 will continue the current storyline while also providing us with some stories from years past. Anniversary numbering, obviously.
Just like X-Men 97′ brought back the cartoon series from the 90’s, Spider-Man 94′ #1 does the same for the Spidey animated series from the same time period!
Every time an “It’s Jeff” book comes out, Ben yells at me for not ordering enough. (“I’ve secretly been ordering extra copies behind your back so you really have no idea how many we sell.”)
Well, I ordered up on this one, so come and get it. It’s Jeff and Other Marvel Tails #1.
It’s a light week for new indie titles, but we’ve got White House Robot Romance #1 from Chip Zdarsky and DSTLRY Comics.
Fun read! Two servant robots go on the run after falling in love in a dysfunctional White House. Zdarksky is the big pull here.
Lastly, we’ve gotten more copies of the Absolute Superman, Batman, and Wonder Woman graphic novels in here, all of which are a treat if you’ve never read them. We’ve also been cranking out back issues, which means more dollar stock hitting the table, for a better browsing experience. We restocked our Scholastic section, too, so be sure to get those kids reading in the new school year. (Luna’s in fourth grade, so I’ve got her reading the Judy Blume classic, Tales of a Fourth Grade Nothing.)
Thanks, everyone! See you this week in the comic book shop!
