Andrea’s Endgame Picks for 12.31.2025

Happy New Year Comic Shop Friends! We’ll be closed on January 1st for New Year’s Day, but we’ll be open our regular hours on Wednesday the 31st for all your comic book needs on a very, very small new comic week!

The 31st is your last day to get 50% off all back issues! Including the wall! Stop in Wednesday to browse the back issues before your New Year’s Eve shenanigans!

As we’re moving into the new year, here’s a friendly reminder from your friendly neighborhood comic shop that we do need you to come in and pick up what is in your files. Thanks to those of you who already did, and thanks to those of you who are always consistent at picking up weekly and monthly! We’re happy to work with you if you need a few extra days, or if you want to make file changes, we just need some communication!

The books sitting in files we’ve already paid for, and when new stock isn’t moving, that doesn’t help us as a small business. We don’t want to close files, because we want all of you to be reading great comics, but this is the time of year when we have to bring the hammer down on delinquent files.

So here’s a not-so-friendly reminder from Judge Dredd! Don’t make us send John Shearer after you! You wouldn’t like him when he’s angry!

MARVEL COMICS

Wanda has rescued the remnants of the Cloak of Levitation and the Eye of Agamotto from the ashes of Doom’s fall, and she believes that they have chosen her to be the new Sorcerer Supreme. The Vishanti disagree, and Wong isn’t too happy with her moving into the Sanctum Sanctorum. Calling on a council of magic users and her sons, Speed and Wiccan, to aid her, Scarlet Witch intends to keep the new title of Sorceress Supreme. Defying tradition and breaking rules is going to cause some chaos, especially after the Vishanti send their own chosen true Sorcerer Supreme to take back the title! From Steve Orlando and Bernard Chang.

The Endgame has arrived! Building since the beginning of the new Ultimate Universe, we are now at the culmination of Ultimate Invasion. The heroes from across the Universe are mobilizing to defeat the Maker. Global unrest surges as the truth about the Maker and his Council spreads. The dome surrounding the City was only good for two years, and those two years are up. But while two years have passed in the Ultimate Universe, the Maker has had thousands of years in the City to prepare for his return! As Iron Lad, Doom, America Chavez, and Spider-Man enter the City they find it changed in ways they haven’t planned for, couldn’t plan for, and who they find within will push their plans even farther off track. Deniz Camp, along with Terry and Rachel Dodson, and Jonas Scharf, bring us to the end (?) of the Ultimate Universe in this five-issue mini-series. Get yourself a blind bag too!

X years later, it ends here! Jed MacKay, Ryan Stegman, and Netho Diaz present the finale of the Age of Revolution event. The armies of X-Men and Arakkii, along with Xavier and Apocalypse, converge to face Revelation head-on in Philadelphia. But they’ll have to get past the Choristers, Quentin Quire, and Angel of Death Wolverine. If they cannot stop Revelation in the present, their only hope lies with the consciousnesses of Cyclops and Beast in the past. If they can’t stop Revelation before this has all begun, both mutants and humans will be doomed.

“I have plotted the way forward for this species. For this world. For all of us. I do not do this out of anger, but of love. I do not do this for love of power, but hatred of it. I was charged with ensuring the survival of the fittest. I am ensuring the survival of everyone.” – Revelation

A bloody finale that will bring us back to the present of the X-Men and into the shadows of tomorrow…

DC COMICS

There are no new DC titles this week! I think they planned a break for us after last week’s stack of Absolute and K.O. titles.

If you aren’t reading those, this week is the perfect time to pick up the DC K.O. series or any Absolute titles you haven’t started yet!

And a head’s up that the Absolute Batman: Ark M Special is next week, and hoooooo boy is it a doozy. Add it to your pull list now so you don’t miss out!

SMALL PRESS COMICS

The only new #1 for small press this week is a new Star Wars Hyperspace Stories mini-series. If you’re looking for more small press recommendations, ask us! Our rec wall is full of our favorite small press titles, and we did a big restock of local comics before the holidays! Support your local comics scene and pick up something new!

The Bad Batch is back with a new four-issue mini-series! Clone Force 99 is sent to track down a scientist and to prevent his dangerous invention from falling into the wrong hands. But when they find an abandoned laboratory, and the device missing, they learn that another team of clones has the same mission. Why would High Command send two teams on the same job? Hunter, Wrecker, Crosshair, and Tech are about to find out that this mission will be different than any they’ve done before! Written by Michael Moreci, with art by Reese Hannigan.
