MARVEL COMICS
What horrors lie within the Dungeons of Doom? With Doom dead, Latveria is without a leader, Doom’s strongholds are empty, and now four factions are trying to lay claim to the secrets, treasures, and technology hidden within Doom’s castle. As U.S. forces battle Latverian freedom fighters to gain entrance, Hydra takes this opportunity to attack. Red Hulk’s handling of the situation sends them all plummeting into an unknown dungeon labyrinth. The arms race has now become a terrifying game of survival. Presented as four chapters, we follow the Red Hulk and the U.S. troops to their first encounter with “The Whisper Man”, “The Latverian Freedom Fighters” are forced to choose the correct tomb to escape a crypt of monsters, and “Sviksemi” has Hydra finding an ancient hammer. Finally, there is “The Wakandan”, sent by Wakanda, he acts alone, but serves another. Who is truly working for? Written by Phillip Kennedy Johnson and Benjamin Percy, with art by Justin Mason, Robert Gill, Carlos Magno, Georges Jeanty, and Karl Story.
Inspired by the Marvel Rivals game, Peach Momoko presents a multiversal journey to find a mythical stone! Momoko has hand-picked a team of creators to tell the story with her, to create the endless possibility of different dimensions as Sai travels to each different world. The art and storytelling is unique to each creator, and in this first issue we get the introduction of Sai’s quest from Peach Momoko, then two universes, the first by Iban Coello, the second by Stan Sakai with Emi Fuji. This is one cohesive tale told over five issues in a round-robin style, following Sai on her, somewhat unwilling, trek across the multiverses as she searches for the seventh stone to complete Galactako’s collection. Beautiful art and a cute story concept make this a very enjoyable read.
When they say blood, they mean blood! This should be a Red Band book, so if you’re looking for brutal and violent stories set in the long life of Logan, you’ll love this. Tom Waltz and Alex Lins reveal Logan’s military service during the Korean War, in “Arms Race” as his entire battalion is slaughtered. A quiet night in 1970s New York is interrupted by a murder in Saladin Ahmed and Adam Kubert’s “Times Square Red”, where Logan has to stop a serial killer. After escaping the Weapon X program, Wolverine comes across a wounded wolf mother and her cubs in the wilderness. Now the hunters that did it are about to encounter another beast in the wilderness in “Red Claws” from Larry Hama and Dave Wachter.

The Wonder Woman Black and Gold Special returns! Four delightful tales of our favorite Amazon!
First, a young contest winner patiently waits for her chance to meet her new best friend, as Wonder Woman is delayed by foe after foe in “Decent Docent.” Written by Tom King and Mitch Gerads, with art by Gerads.
Second, in “Last Flight” Diana asks Xanthe for help entering the Spirit World to search for Steve Trevor. But danger lurks in a realm of the dead. Even though she is not mortal, she still lives, and there are spirits that want a taste. Written by Alyssa Wong, with art by Karen S. Darboe.
Third, the Island Unreal offers a chance for people to be free of choice and decisions. Wonder Woman knows that’s not freedom, and confronts Anton Unreal. His truth is not THE truth in “The Truth Unreal” from Steve Orlando and Rossi Gifford.
Fourth, a story from Diana’s past, “Peach Thief” by writer Jordie Bellaire and artist Paulina Ganucheau. Young Diana must solve the mystery of who has stolen the delicious golden peaches, because she’ll do anything for the annual peach cobbler! That means a stakeout to find the culprit!
All fight month is over, now the Elite Eight remain! As the Omega Tournament moves into another round the final eight combatants are presented with another twist – it’s tag-team time! The winners of the head-to-head fights, Superman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Guy Gardner, Zatanna, Cyborg, Lex Luthor, and Joker, must choose a tag team partner from the fallen combatants and fight duo against duo! There are a few “Oh shit!” moments in this issue, and the ending… dang, I cannot wait to read the next issue! We’re getting great character moments in this event, and the use of the DC Universe history and callbacks to previous K.O. issues are excellent. There are interesting team-ups, and reasons for those choices are explained and play into the fights. Scott Snyder and Javi Fernandez are doing knockout work on this mini-series. In the end only four champions will remain, but they’re thrown into a new playing field, against fighters they have no knowledge of. Fill in your brackets, and let us know who you think will take it all!

She may have plans to open her library to the public and focus on philanthropy, but plans change. Her history as an archaeologist and adventurer isn’t over, as the deadly Scythian Dagger is stolen from her home by someone she thought dead.
