Andrea’s Inglorious Picks for 01.21.2026
Hi Comic Shop Friends! Hope you’re all staying warm out there! We’re going to get right to the new comics for this chilly, chilly week.
MARVEL COMICS
In the future, Cable was too late to stop an assassination, and he returns with no memory of what happened, and only a list of names carved into his arm. It’s up to Cable’s new team of Archangel, Hellverine, and Boom Boom to figure out who they’re after and save the first mutant president. But there’s a secret hidden in Cable’s lost memories, and the Inglorious X-Force will also have to contend with the Mutant Liberation Front and the mysterious influencer Kali, who is shaping the coming conflict between humanity and mutantkind. Written by Tim Seely, with art by Michael Sta. Maria.
Another Tim Seely X-Men book this week! With artist Nico Leon, Seely flashes back to a story set after Uncanny X-Men #251 with Betsy Braddock. After entering the Siege Perilous, Betsy is reborn. Her mind is merged with the body of Kawannon, a Hand assassin, and she is transformed into a killing machine, Psylocke: Ninja! She does not know her past, but memories from both women flash through her mind. Why have the Hand chosen her to be their weapon? What does it have to do with the Chaste and the patient they are healing? Find out in this lost story from Psylocke’s past!
It’s just another day for the ol’ Louisiana X-Men as Rogue, Gambit, and their team take on a giant mutated possum, until Rogue sees the face of an old man that seems familiar. She cannot place it, but now she’s having flashes of that same man younger, and blood, so much blood. Are these memories from her time with the Brotherhood of Mutants? Xavier had purged them, so where are they coming from? Whose memories is she experiencing? When the past comes back to haunt her, Rogue must leave Haven House on a search for answers, starting with a visit to Mystique and Destiny. From writer Erica Schultz and artist Luigi Zagaria.
DC COMICS
DC has two DC K.O. tie-ins this week! First, Titans #31, following Donna Troy and Roy Harper on Earth as they battle Grail, while Nightwing is met with an obstacle on Gemworld. It’s up to Raven and Tera to help them. It’s always been “Titans Together”, but with them split apart evacuating everyone on Earth, the teamwork they usually rely on is sorely missed, and needed. Written by John Layman with art by Pete Woods.
Get ready for the Galactic Slam! A scattering of heroes try to keep the parademons at bay on Earth, including Kyle Rayner, but a body slam sends him through a boom tube and into another fight – a W.A.M. match! Now besides figuring out how to get back to Earth, G.L. has to learn the ropes in an intergalactic wrestling promotion! A fun read full of fights, a new costume for Green Lantern, along with some goofy new names courtesy of Omega Bam Man. W.A.M.’s current title holder, Omega Bam Man remains undefeated for the 252nd time, until promotion manager Mr. Scuzz reveals a twist… that involves Darkseid. Now Green Lantern and Omega Bam Man are teaming up to face off in a matchup with W.A.M.’s hardest hitters, to save the Earth and the Universe! It’s brawl after brawl in Jeremy Adams and Cian Tormey’s one-shot, with an ending that may just help change the fate of the DC Universe’s battle against Darkseid.
Tom King’s taking a little break from Wonder Woman for these next two issues, but Stephanie Williams has done an excellent job filling in with artist Jeff Spokes. Diana is suffering from the grief of losing Steve and she turns to her Amazon sisters for help. They’re more than willing to watch over Elizabeth while Diana rests and meditates, but nothing they try will calm the crying baby. There’s something causing unrest, and it’s not only affecting baby Lizzie, it’s bringing out darkness within each of them. How can the Amazons help Diana and care for Elizabeth, when they now have to deal with an outside threat?
SMALL PRESS COMICS
The United States is collapsing. The president has an agenda, and to keep himself in power he has forged an alliance. There are factions that believe in what he’s doing, taking children from their mothers, killing those opposed to them. There are resistance groups fighting against this agenda. Imagine living through all this, and there are also vampires. President Cross has allied himself with a cabal of ancient vampires to expand the administration’s pursuit of power, transforming the country into a battleground between loyalists and dissenters. Heather Brooks wakes from a drug induced stupor to find her newborn missing, and she’s forced to find out who is behind the abduction. Son Cassidy is heading up a militant resistance group devoted to ending the White Cell’s influence. These two are on the same course and headed toward a collision, leading to a change in the cross-country war for the soul of the nation. A new twelve issue political horror from writer B. Clay Moore and artist Mack Chater.
