It’s ComicsPro week, Comic Shop Friends! That means John, Ben, and Kevin are heading to California for the annual comic retailer convention. They’ll be coming back with news and exclusives next week!

Remember that Late Nite Comics is moved to NEXT Thursday, the 26th, because the guys are gone this week!

If you buy 100 or more dollar books, they’ll be 50 cents each!

Pick a Valentine to get free dollar books! Each one is marked with a number, and you can pick out that many free dollar comics!

And to help support Zoe and her fundraiser for Blood Cancer United, 20% of our sales from Late Nite Comics this month will be donated to them!

Zoe is doing a fundraising project for Blood Cancer United as a school project! We are taking cash donations in the shop, you can donate online Here and you can donate by shopping during Late Nite Comics.

And she’ll be shaving her head on March 6th to bring awareness to Blood Cancer United! Formerly the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, they have a mission to cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin’s disease, and myeloma while improving the quality of life for patients and their families. The organization aims to enable patients to gain more than one million years of life by 2040 through research, education and advocacy.

Thanks to everyone who has donated so far!

One more bit of housekeeping, then onto the new comics!

Recently, we’ve had some issues using Google Voice to send out text notifications. We’re trying to figure out the issue, so if you had signed up to be notified by text and haven’t heard from us, please let us know. We do have a different number, 216.223.8435, than the shop’s phone that texts are sent from, so please add that to your contacts to make sure notifications aren’t going to spam.

The five or six magazine boxes that are always out behind the counter are all the customers that we have to notify, and the majority of notifications are texts. If you’ve been in on a Thursday afternoon, you’ve probably seen the gigantic stack of bags piled on the counter that I’m working through as I notify everyone! We think the sheer volume of texts we send on that day may be part of the problem.

If you want to switch to an email or call, we can do that, and if you’re in consistently every week or two, we’ll work on switching you to a regular file that is not notified.

Please keep in contact with us if you’re having issues with any of the notifications. We’re working on solutions because we want you to get your new comics!

Featuring stories from some of the writers and artists who have defined T’Challa’s legacy, this oversized one-shot celebrates Black Panther’s 60th anniversary! Hatut Zeraze agent Kevin Cole is tracking down the missing Wakandan ruler, sending him on a search that touches on various people and events from T’Challa’s past. There are four interwoven stories, “The Understanding,” written by Evan Narcisse with art by Georges Jeanty, which is the wraparound story of Cole’s search. “Once On a Blue Moon” from Cody Ziglar and Alitha E. Martinez, with a cosmic Black Panther adventure with Blue Marvel. “Through My Eyes” written by Murewa Ayodele and art by Eder Messias, showing a piece of Storm and T’Challa’s relationship as he performs a ritual. “Exiles” from Priest and Javier Pina, which reveals a meeting between the King of Wakanda and Magneto, that may lead into a new beginning for the character.

Billed as the biggest Wolverine story in years, and one that will have a major impact on the Marvel Universe, Chip Zdarsky and Luca Maresca’s four-issue mini-series leads into the Armageddon Assembled event launching this summer! An old adversary brings Logan into her search for an abducted mutant, Tyler, which reveals that the defunct Weapon X program is back with their torturous methods. Perhaps those nightmares Logan has been having about his time in the program are really premonitions. As he follows the trail of feral Tyler, Wolverine finds himself in a race with a super soldier creating corporation, Primewarrior, to find the missing mutant. That’s not the only thing missing though, there’s a box of unknown origin that’s disappeared from the facility, that has immense untapped power. With bombings destroying labs, it’s time for Primewarrior to bring in the big guns: an upgraded Nuke! This may be tying in with Zdarsky’s Captain America, so if you’re reading that, give this one a shot!

DC COMICS

The first full appearance of Poison Ivy in the Absolute Universe! Plus, another first appearance I cannot mention, because it will spoil the reveal! In the aftermath of the broadcast fight with Bane, everything feels different for Bruce. The city loves Batman, but the public support for a symbol doesn’t matter when his friends pull away, disappear, and do not want contact with him. Losing these ties to humanity is pushing him to head deeper and deeper into Pamela Isley’s labyrinth of creatures created from all six kingdoms of life, despite Alfred’s warnings. Welcome to Ivy’s wish… she dreams of reconnection, she dreams of cures, she dreams of becoming something more. Even Absolute Batman may not be strong enough to resist Poison Ivy. From Scott Snyder and guest artist Eric Canete.

Eddie Stallion has f#@*ed up. Like, the biggest f-up he could ever f-up. Kyle Starks and Steve Pugh present the second new Vertigo release, following a hitman in trouble! Called in last minute to help a buddy with a job, he slowly figures out that the crew has robbed a high-ranking boss in the international cabal of assassins, the Menagerie, that Eddie is also a legacy member of. Oops. Now he has the whole Menagerie on him for a chance at the most outrageous bounty they’ve ever been offered, and he’s forced to hide in the last place anyone would expect, his old hometown of Pluto. And oops again, he beats up some local gang members, so now they’re after him, and his dad is about to shoot him just for showing up again. Oh, and his childhood love is still in town! Eddie’s not going to catch a break, but he’s also not going down without a fight. This man-child is about to have to face some very grown-up problems, or die trying! A great first issue that’s funny, full of action, and another excellent addition to the Vertigo line!
