Andrea’s Narcoleptic Picks for 03.04.2026

Spring is almost here, Comic Shop Friends! March is upon us, and so is a new week of comics!

We had a very successful Late Nite Comics, so thank you to all of you who stopped out! We can’t release totals yet, but John said the donation of 20% of Thursday’s sales exceeded the goal! Zoe will be shaving her head on March 6th, and you can still donate until the 14th.

We are collecting cash donations for Blood Cancer United in the shop, or you can donate online here: https://pages.lls.org/svoy/noh/svoynoh26/zdudas

A local representative from Blood Cancer United’s Student Visionaries Program, Austin Fleischer, even stopped by at Late Nite Comics to show his support!

March’s Late Nite Comics will be on the 19th, and a head’s up that we are changing the time! We’ll now be running Late Nite from 7pm to 11pm. That means you don’t have to wait until 8 to get your dollar deals and 50% off back issues, and that means we’ll all get home earlier!

MARVEL COMICS

What’s this? More X-Men? More X-Men! Marvel has a one-shot, and new series, and an annual, along with X-Men #26 this week! Plus, the continuation of the Death Spiral event in Amazing Spider-Man!

Iceman Omega is a one-shot collecting the four-part Marvel Infinity comic, Marvel’s Voices: Iceman in print for the first time! Along with writer and artist Luciano Vecchio’s Iceman’s New Year’s Resolutions from the Mighty Marvel Holiday Special, and excerpts from 2020’s Marvel’s Voices, and the 2021 Marvel’s Voices: Pride, follow Bobby Drake as he realizes his true potential as an Omega level mutant, and smooches a bunch of dudes along the way! From coming out to helping terraform an entire planet, Bobby’s had a big year, and it’s only going up from there! Moving to L.A., reuniting with a lost love, teaming up with Loki and the Silver Surfer, the Indomitable Iceman is always moving forward!

Dani Moonstar thought she had found purpose in the Society of the Eternal Dawn, but after learning of their corrupt ambitions, she and Magik brought down the organization. Now Dani is at a crossroads. She doesn’t know if she can trust her judgement, but she returns home to find a foundation and to figure out her path forward. When an ancient cursed blade is set loose, former members of Eternal Dawn show up on Dani’s doorstep to ask for her help. She’s the only one with memories of Asgard, and she may be the only one who can stop the soul-sucking weapon, and its undead wielder. If she can trust the Society’s Exemplars, and herself. Written by Ashley Allen, with art by Edoardo Audino.

An all-new threat confronts the X-Men! The Creationist, a mutant with the power to manifest anything he visualizes, has forced artists to create monsters to attack the X-Men. Why is he doing this? Phoenix will have to dive deep into his mind to find out. Can she and Wolverine stop the Creationist from making imagination an enemy? Can Rogue, Gambit, Jubilee, and Nightcrawler keep the monsters at bay long enough for them to try? Written by Ryan Stegman, and featuring art by Steve Skroce with Sanford Green and Ryan Stegman, this annual is a fun story about creating, and fighting self-doubt.

DC COMICS

It’s the end of year one of Absolute Flash with Jeff Lemire and Nick Robles’s issue #12! “Everything bad I always knew deep down would one day happen – it’s here.” Wally’s not scared anymore and runs head first into the final battle at Fort Fox. But when it’s over, what will be the future of the Flash? Everything is about to change for Wally, the Rogues, and even for Grood, as the lives they’ve been living come to a turning point. I know this hasn’t been one of the favorites of the Absolute titles for a lot of people, but it’s a solid story dealing with loss and Wally’s anxiety, and well worth checking out.

Artist Juan Ferreyra has the perfect style to bring some terror to Metropolis, as the all-consuming Parasite threatens to devour the entire city! Hawkman is set on destroying the creature, but that would kill those trapped within. Superman knows there has to be another way, even if he has to sacrifice himself. This is another great issue from Jason Aaron, and he’s setting up some big things with Ra’s al Ghul, Brainiac, and happy family man Lex Luthor. Whooo boy… this one’s a doozy.

The final fight! Get ready for the final K.O.! Lex Luthor is the last man standing, as the fate of all hangs in the balance. But Scott Snyder and Javier Fernandez have one last trick up their sleeves… There is Omega energy, but there is also Alpha energy, and Superman may have a chance to re-enter the competition with both. Will it be enough to end Darkseid? One final shocking decision will bring the DC Universe to the Next Level! Everything in this issue leads to All In Act II, new powers, new titles, and the continuation of the Absolute Universe!

SMALL PRESS COMICS

Yes, there’s a Marvel book in the small press section! Image has reprinted the historic first meeting of Invincible and Spider-Man in Marvel Team-Up #14! Available once again, Robert Kirkman and Cory Walker throw Invincible into the Marvel Universe, right into a Doctor Octopus and Spider-Man fight! That means it’s time for a team-up, as they have to track down Doc Ock, and get Invincible back to his own dimension. Don’t worry, we stocked up on the Todd McFarlane variant!

The newest mini-series in the Plastic-verse from writer Doug Wagner and artist Daniel Hillyard is Narco! (John Shearer’s pick of the week! You’ll find most of Wagner and Hilyard’s other books on his rec wall consistently.) Marcus loves pop tarts, serial killers, and has a rare form of narcolepsy. If he gets too excited, if his heart rate gets too high, he passes out. He’s learned to manage what might trigger a black out, living a quiet life writing a blog about serial killers, meeting friends regularly, and crushing on the woman who lives across the hall. He’s about to have his first date with Jess when she’s murdered in front of him. He’s the only witness, and the only suspect. Things are about to get way too exciting as he’s forced to leave the calm of his apartment and pursue a killer!
