Ten dollars. Three issues. This is the trade paperback to pick up this week. If you haven’t already been reading Exquisite Corpses, now is your chance. James Tynion IV and Michael Walsh have assembled a team of creators to collaborate on the country’s deadliest, and most secret game. Every five years, the thirteen wealthiest families in America gather to play a game to determine who will secretly rule the country. Each family picks a killer, and a city is chosen and cut off from contact with anyone outside. The goal of the killers: be the last one standing. The goal of the citizens of Oak Valley, Maine: survive the night. The kill count racks up each issue as a new team of creators follows a new murderer as they vie to be the winner.

When a man sets himself on fire on the Emissary bridge, it sets off a chain of death, destruction, and violence. Sheriff Calhoun believes it all stems from the Valades, he just has to prove it. But he doesn’t know how much happening under his watch involves his family, the newly back in town Deputy, and the mysterious sunglass wearing man lurking around the crime scenes. Time is running out and he may not be able to untangle the threads before it does.
