Chris Claremont Coming to CNJComics

The big new is that we’ve signed Chris Claremont to do a signing for Free Comic Book Day this year on it’s new date of Saturday, August 14th, 2021.

We’re not completely sure what FCBD will look like this year, but at this point you can count on Free Comics and Claremont doing a signing from 10am to 7pm. First autograph is free in the spirit of the day, after that it’s $10 each, which is very reasonable. We’ll give you updates month to month but for now let’s just let that sink in for a moment! Big win!

This weekend we’ve got “NOT” Free Comic Book Day, in place of our usually event on May 1st and 2nd!

Let’s be honest, this is really just a cash grab to help us finance the real FCBD in August. Help us out! Stop in and spend some money! For the first time in our history we’ll be pulling ALL the books out of our storage locker at once for only $1.00 each. (50 cents each for 100 or more!) It’s just shy of 200 long boxes. These books will be in the shop we typically use for FCBD (17430 Lorain Ave, a 100 feet walk from the shop). In the main store we will have 50% off ALL back issues and 10% off EVERYTHING else in the shop! We will not be doing half off sales that often so make the most of it! We will also extend our Sunday hours to match our Saturday hours, so both days we’ll be open from 10am to 7pm. Moving all those boxes is a pain in the a$$ so we want everyone to have enough time to dig through them. There’s lots of indie stuff in there that you don’t get to see in the shop, so get your lists together and get ready to dig.

And now, here’s some quick featured books coming out this Wednesday, April 28th, 2021!

It’s about time Miles Morales got a big storyline, and it starts this week with the new Clone Saga in issue #25!

Original Marvels writer Kurt Busiek brings us a new ongoing series that will take us to all levels of the Marvel Universe.

The first issue of The Marvels brings us Captain America, Spider-Man, the Punisher, the Human Torch, Storm, the Black Cat, the Golden Age Vision, Aero, Iron Man and Thor, as well as some new characters!

Over at DC, Robin #1 is a projected as a hit with the first appearance of three new characters as Robin fights in the League of Lazarus Tournament to prove he’s the best fighter in the DCU.

One of my favorite titles this year is Batman Black and White, with some really fun and abstract Batman stories. Every issue has been great.

Lastly, in Crossover #6, Donny Cates finally pulls the first storyline to a fantastic climax. This is a great story that includes the hobby of collecting comics.

This is currently our best selling independent title!

There’s lots more fun stuff this week but we’re too busy moving boxes to talk about it! See you this weekend at the shop!
