New Comic Releases for the week of 12-3-2014
We’ve got a quirky little week ahead of us, with a lot of little books that are going to really resonate with the right person.
Here’s the featured new comic releases for the week of Wednesday December 3rd, 2014.
It’s Thanos vs the Hulk in a new mini series written and drawn by Jim Starlin, writer of Infinity Gauntlet and Thanos Quest.
The last Thanos mini series left a little to be desired, so we’re looking at Starlin to pull him out of his slump with this four issue mini series. Already digging this book 70’s cosmic feel.
Another lady joins the ranks of solo titles at Marvel, with Angela Asgard’s Assassin #1.
Turns out this old Neil Gaiman character is Thor’s sister. Written by Kieron Gillen with art by the seldom seen yet awesome Phil Jimenez.
Want to know more about Peggy Carter before her new television mini-series? We’ve got it all here in the Captain America Peggy Carter Agent of SHIELD one shot.
This huge $7.99 book has stories from the 1960’s to modern day. Check out the brief trailer for the show here!
Gail Simone brings The Secret Six back for DC this week!
Gail lobbied hard to get this book back on the New 52 slate. It’s sort of like a cooler, creepier Suicide Squad. High expectations.
Hellboy returns in Hellboy and the BPRD 1952 #1.
This five issue mini is written by series creator Mike Mignola with art by Alex Maleev, who’s probably the best artist they could pick for this book. (other than Mignola himself of course.) The story of Hellboys first mission ever.
Who’s the black private dick That’s a sex machine to all the chicks?
Shaft number one from Dynamite Entertainment! The early adventures of Shaft before he became a private investigator.
Damn right.
Speaking of Issac Hayes…
BOOM did so well with Big Trouble In Little China that they’re at it again with Escape From New York #1. (how was that for a segue?)
Set right after the first movie. Let’s see if BOOM can strike gold twice. “Plissken, I thought you were dead”
Lastly, it’s a pretty good week for action figures, including the Batman Lil’ Gotham Joker Mini Figure.
Other DC Direct figures this week are a New 52 Hawkman along with the series 2 Batman Capullo figure for Catwoman and Mr. Freeze. Oh yeah, and a Batman figure based on the 1989 NES 8-bit video game.
We’d like to that everyone for comic out and being awesome at our Black Friday event this past weekend. Everything went really well and I think it was our best year ever.
Mark your calendar for our Annual Christmas Party / Art Show/ Food Drive / Sale on Saturday December 20th. We’ve got a lot of cool stuff planned, so stay tuned.
That’s it for this week! Peace.
