Iron Fist and Doctor Strange at CNJComics

Conventions season is over (for now), and it’s back to business as usual at CNJComics!

Here’s what going on in the shop this week!

FEATURED TITLES

Iron Fist made it’s debut on Netflix last week, with a slow start and a fair ending. (Jim really likes Colleen Wing.)

Marvel’s timed a new ongoing to coincide with the release, with the first issue coming out Wednesday, March 22nd.

Written by Ed Brisson, THE GAUNTLET STARTS HERE!

“K’un Lun is in ruins. The chi fueling Danny’s fists is wavering. Is there a future for the Iron Fist? Danny Rand pushes himself to the breaking point, finding fights to prove his worth. But a bigger fight than he can handle may have found him…”

Here’s the 1:50 variant cover to issue #1 by Alex Ross! (As well as a cool poster.)

If you’re looking to read up on this character we’ve got some graphic novels for you, starting with the five star Immortal Iron Fist by Hawkeye’s Matt Fraction and David Aja.

The definitive modern Iron Fist story, we can’t recommend this enough. Marvel finally put the whole thing in one softcover for $39.99.

If you’re looking for more classic fare and where the character began, we’ve got the Iron Fist Epic Collection, reprinting his first appearances Claremont, Byrne and Gil Kane. It’s all here for another $39.99.

The most current storyline was painter Kaare Andrews Iron Fist Living Weapon, complied completely here in one volume. A bit of a quirkier take and Danny Rand.

New the week is the Iron Fist Book of Changes Graphic Novel, collecting stories from the 90’s by key artists like Jae Lee and Sam Keith.

JASON LOVES DOCTOR STRANGE DAY

Visit the shop this Sunday, March 26th for “Jason Loves Doctor Strange Day”.

We’ll be watching Doctor Strange on loop all day, as well as giving away free copies of a reprint collection of the first three issues of Jason Aaron and Chris Bachalo’s Doctor Strange run. (because Jason Loves It.)

You can also enter yourself in a raffle for the Complete Ditko Doctor Strange Omnibus, an amazing collection of the Doctor’s earliest trippy appearances.

The winner will be drawn at the end of the day.

Ditko rules:

Where else will you get to watch Doctor Strange with Jason actually in the room with you?!

Lastly, we’d like to thank everyone for shopping local during Winston World. We are now poised to give you another amazing free comic book day for 2017!
