Winston World this weekend at CNJComics

While not a huge new comic week, this has to be the most interesting selection in 2021 so far!

But first let’s talk about Winston World!

Winston World has always been our three day sale to coincide with Wizard World downtown. We even ripped of their art style to hijack their social media presence. Well just because the circus isn’t coming to town doesn’t mean we can’t have a sale.

From Friday March 5th to Sunday March 7th we’ll have:

  • 50% off ALL Back Issues!
  • 10% off EVERYTHING else in the shop! (we do mean everything.)

We’re not allowed to use the foyer during tax season but we’ll fill our counter space with as many $1.00 boxes as possible, 50 cents each for $1.00 or more. We’ll also keep refilling those dollar boxes all weekend!

Oh yeah! Winston ironically even made it into this week too!

So on to that really interesting new comic book week!

Here’s the featured new releases coming out this Wednesday, March 3rd, 2021!

The big book this week is super hot cover artist Peach Momoko’s first full length book from Marvel, Demon Days X-Men #1.

A reimagining of the Marvel Universe with Psylocke and Venom up front! This will be a quarterly five issue mini series, to give her ample time to complete her work.

WandaVision has been a treat, so here’s a chance to get one of the last Alex Ross Timeles variants on Avengers #43. Yup, it’s the Vision and only cover price at $3.99!

We can’t keep Star Wars High Republic books in stock, and this week we’ve got two new one’s hitting the table. (well, actually three.)

Star Wars High Republic #3 and High Repubic Adventures #2 are brand new, and Star Wars High Republic #2 gets a 2nd print.

DC Future State is over, and we’re now into Infinite Frontier, starting with a $5.99 one shot that will lead into everything that’s to come.

The boys read it, really liked it, so we upped out orders at the last minute.

We’ve got three new #1’s from DC this week, Suicide Squad, Swamp Thing and Crime Syndicate.

Peachmaker’s leading the Squad now, and they’re heading into Arkham Asylum to recruit Talon from Court of Owls.

Swamp Thing #1 is the first of a ten issue mini series by the same writer as the Future State book, Ram V.

Earth 3 has been reborn and with it the new Crime Syndicate is here. (you know, the world where the Justice League is evil.)

It’s a big week for indie books as well, with BOOM’s BRZRKR #1 leading the pack. Yup, this is the much asked about book written by Keanu Reeves and Matt Kindt.

This is going to be a big one, as preorders here were huge.

Image has a new #1 as well, Nocterra by the hit team of Scott Snyder and Tony Daniel.

“Ten years after the world is plunged into an everlasting night that turns all living creatures into monstrous shades, the only way to survive is to stay close to artificial light. Enter Valentina “Val” Riggs, a skilled ferryman who transports people and goods along deadly unlit roads with her heavily illuminated eighteen wheeler.” Yes!

We’ve got the new “Boys” collection from Garth Ennis! Set 12 years after the events of the original series, “Dear Becky” is the first new graphic novel since the show has come out.

Here’s an under the radar staff pick from ONI Comics, Jonna and the Unpossible Monsters #1, written and drawn by shop favorite Chris Samnee. (his wife co wrote it as well.)

“Rainbow has been searching for her sister, Jonna, for a year. The last time she saw Jonna was also the first time she saw one of the monsters that now roam the planet. They’re big, ugly, and dangerous creatures, driving humanity to the brink of extinction. Though there isn’t much hope for survival out in the wild, Rainbow knows that her sister is out there somewhere-and she’ll do anything to find her.”

Whew! Alright, that’s it for this week! Get your lists together for Winston World and we’ll see you this week at the shop!
