Trick or Treating at CNJComics 10-28-2023
Hey everyone! Just a quick reminder that we’ll be hosting in-shop trick or treating from 10 am to 4 pm on Saturday, October 28th!
We’ve had a lot of fun decorating the shop this year and it really shows as you look around the place.
We’ve got lots of comics and candy to give away, with Marvel producing five books that were made just for the day!
We’ve also got a few other trick-or-read books, including the Cooking with Monsters Feastiary, an IDW Dark Spaces Sampler (adults only), and two manga books from Kodansha. You’re welcome to take one of each as well as some candy. (we have a lot.)
We’ll set up a DIY photo backdrop outside, as well as our mechanical “Lewis” talking pumpkin ghoul. (apprently he’s trending according to my daughters.)
We have also decided to do 50% off all back issues all day except for the wall. (we just reracked it!) This will be the last time for half of back issues until Black Friday weekend.
We’ve also decided to put out a box of free Image Firsts Comics, first-issue reprints of Image titles for adult customers to dig through, with some great horror titles too. Get your holiday read-on!
We’ll likely have books all day, but we thought we’d concentrate our efforts into the first half of the day. Leftovers will be available on Sunday in case you can’t make it in on Saturday.
This is also a quick reminder abut our final Superman 85th event the night before on Friday October 27th from 6pm to 10pm.
The event has actually changed a bit, with even more guests being added. Sarah Kuhn will be in shop signing copies of her Lois Lane: Girl Taking Over original graphic novel, but we also have FREE copies of a preview book for you to get signed by her.
Laura Siegel Larson, Jerry’s daughter, will also be in shop visiting with us. This is really a great honor for us.
Local artist Daniel Gorman will be bringing in his Superman 85th Anniversary in Cleveland Posters, signing them and giving them away for free.
We’ll have the shop set up so you can get all three signatures on your print if you like, really a great memento to have from this year’s celebration.
October has been a wild ride, and we appreciate all the support that you’ve given to our efforts. We will be closed on Monday and Tuesday, November 13th and 14th as we are getting new carpeting in the shop! This is huge for us and a long time coming!
“Each year, the Great Pumpkin rises out of the pumpkin patch that he thinks is the most sincere. He’s gotta pick this one. He’s got to. I don’t see how a pumpkin patch can be more sincere than this one. You can look around and there’s not a sign of hypocrisy. Nothing but sincerity as far as the eye can see.”
