Andrea’s Super-Pet Picks for 07.31.2024
Hey, Comic Shop Friends! We have a fifth Wednesday this week, so it should give you a little break after our Not at Comic Con Sale! But John did a Facebook live video on Tuesday featuring the graded and slabbed books we recently got in, so come out and take a look at the four boxes! I grabbed a Toxic Avenger #1, and someone needs to pick up the Turkish Spider-Man before I do just for the novelty. They’re all 25% off the price marked!
In other news, John and Raf will be setting up at NEO Comic Con on Sunday, August 4th in North Olmsted! Stop out, say hi, and see what they have!
The next Late Nite Comics will be on Thursday, August 15th! Open until midnight! Tons of dollar books! We’ll have more details on that later.
Onto the comics!

DC COMICS
DC has one tie-in for Absolute Power this week, with Absolute Power Task Force VII #3, from writer Jeremy Adams and artist Marco Santucci. After capturing and absorbing the powers from the JSA, Jadestone is compromised by Green Lantern Alan Scott’s willpower. Meanwhile the remaining JSA members attempt a rescue mission to retrieve their teammates and escape to the Tower of Fate!
In this facsimile of the premiere issue of the JLA’s first self-titled series, the fate of the world’s greatest superhero team rests on the outcome of a chess match against Despero! You know I’m a sucker for animal books, and this one-shot anthology doesn’t disappoint! Five great stories with DC’s greatest animals! The Super-Pets welcome Haley, aka Bitewing, to the Kent’s farm, and recruit her for a mission to rescue Streaky from Menagerie Man in “Pup, Pup and Away!” written by Tony Fleecs with art by Mike Norton. Conrad and artist Sami Basri’s “Refuge” finds Damian’s pets on their way to a Biotech facility, but those humans don’t realize who they’re dealing with! Saga’s back! And I’m caught up, so I’m ready to read it every month! It’s the twelfth season, and Hazel’s twelfth year, and I like to think the cover is an homage to that infamous ALF cover. Welcome back Saga! The other, other book you should pick up this week!
