Hi Comic Shop Friends! Just a little bit of shop news: John will be set up at the next Harper show on Sunday, June 2nd from 10 am to 4 pm, at the Westlake Doubletree. The next Late Nite Comics will be Thursday, June 20th, 8 pm to midnight! Mark your calendars! We’re finishing out the month with a fifth Wednesday, so it’s a little smaller, but there are still a lot of great books this week! MARVEL COMICS Make sure to let us know which Blood Hunt titles you want added to your pull list, so you don’t miss any! We re-stocked a stack of issue #1s of Union Jack if you missed it last week, and we’re trying to keep all the released titles in stock on the rec wall! Hello there, Comic Shop Friends! Are you ready for some comics? MARVEL COMICS Blood Hunt and the Red Band Blood Hunt #2 are out this week! We did put a full issue list of all the mini-series and tie-ins on the counter that we’re marking off as they come out, so you can take a look at what you’re missing. Also, we should mention that if you’ve picked up a first issue of any of the Blood Hunt mini-series, please let us know if you want them added to your pull list. Hi Comic Shop Friends! How was your week? I spent my vacation reading all of Saga, so I’m finally caught up and ready for its return in July! Now I have to catch up on last week’s and this week’s books… John will be sending out a Free Comic Book Day thank you email soon, but I want to say thank you to everyone who came out as well. It was a great day, everything was super smooth, and I got an original ALF drawing from Luna, so I don’t know how next year will top that. Lots going on this week, so here’s info on that, then onto new books! You should come out to the Grog Shop on Wednesday the 15th for the Midnight Rental Secret Screening and Ben-iversary celebration! Hey everyone, John here, and I thought it was appropriate to write a thank you email to all the people who helped make this year’s Free Comic Book Day a huge success for us. We’re calling it the best Free Comic Book Day ever, and that statement might not be to far off the mark. For some reason, everything just came together really well this year, and my gratitude levels are off the hook. First off, I’d like to thank the staff. Free Comic Book Day is run by a ten person crew. John Shearer, Ben, Kyle, Andrea, Kevin, MIsty, Mike, Rafael, Felipe and myself. This year’s attendance was over three thousand people, and when you think about that being run by ten people, it’s pretty remarkable. The fact that we had a good time doing it is part of what made this year so fun. Everyone knew their roles, we rotated positions regularly so everyone’s view of the event wasn’t pigeonholed, and everyone got a break to enjoy the event from the outside. Free Comic Book Day is coming on Saturday, May the 4th from 10 am to 7 pm! This is our 23rd year hosting this event. Truly hard to believe it’s been that many years! Everyone attending will be able to pick out 12 comic books from the 48 titles that are being offered! Books will be in a new spot this year, even closer to the shop than in years past. This year’s Free Comic Book Room will be located at 17480 Lorain Ave. (the old tanning salon, headed towards Ace Hardware 50 feet from the shop.) There are some great books this year, covering all kinds of genres. It’s May the 4th, so of course there’s a Star Wars title. (two actually!) We’re really excited about this year’s Energon Universe title, new material from Robert Kirkman’s new line of Transformers and G.I.Joe books. Hey everyone! John D here, with some last minute stream of consciousness updates for Free Comic Book Day this year! If you haven’t read any info yet, start here first! We also got the Pole Position in this year’s Cleveland.com Free Comic Book Day Article! We’ll be giving out twelve books per person, but we encourage everyone to visit as many other events that day as possible! Enjoy all the hobby has to offer! It’s May the 4th so buy yourself a Star Wars Comic! Free Comic Book Day is from 10am to 7pm, and people start lining up earlier every year. We do expect a healthy crowd. We have found that FCBD is broken up into three blocks, 10am to 1pm is all the hoopla, with alot of people in costume, lots of energy, and the best selection of free books. 1pm to 4pm the event is busy but starts to mellow out a bit. Good time to come if crowds aren’t for you and you need a little breathing room. 4pm to 7pm is a wind down, but...
