We’ve got some exciting new releases this Wednesday, and Saturday is Local Comic Shop Day, a day to celebrate your LCS with some exclusive items you can only get in brick and mortar independently owned comic shops! Here’s the featured new releases coming out this Wednesday, November 20th, 2019! First up is the finale to the incredibly popular Absolute Carnage series! It’s Carnage Vs Venom to the Death! Lots of variants and if you can wait till Saturday there’s even a cover priced LCSD variant! Deadpool gets a new ongoing series written by Kelly Thompson with trippy art by Chris Bachelo! If you’ve been reading comics for a (long) while, you may have heard about Denny O’Neil and Deny’s Cowan’s classic Question run. It’s a hidden gem, with the background of Hub City being as important to the character as Gotham and Metropolis is to those other two guys. It’s that time of year again! If you’re new to the culture of the shop, our Black Friday event is our longest-running event, going on for over 20 years now. We host this event from 7 pm to midnight on Friday, so our staff can be with their families and you can get any other shopping chores out of the way before hanging out with us. It’s a really fun social event too, and a fun tradition for a lot of our customers. It’s more about enjoying the hobby than a mad consumer battle. It’s our biggest sale of the year too, and one of only two times that we pull all the books out of our backroom and storage locker and make them $1.00 each. (50 cents each for 100 or more!) We’ve got lots of stuff that’s never been picked through before, as we’ve been buying up collections left and right lately. It’s about 75,000 books. I just got back from out of town, so here’s a real quick featured release email! Here’s the featured new releases for Wednesday, November 6th, 2019! Marvel Titles Two new X-Titles this week! So far X-Men #1 lightened the mood and was a fun read, Marauders #1 was really great and Excalibur #1 was just okay. This week the original New Mutants return with a few friends and a story co-written by Hickman himself. Rod Reis’ art is pretty great too! X-Force will by the covert team of Krakoa, with an intelligence and a black ops team lead by Wolverine.
