Andrea’s Werthless Pics for 07.02.2025

Hi Comic Shop Friends! Are you excited for Superman? We are! Check out what John has been working on: “Here’s something I’ve been slowly working on for the Superman movie this month. It’s coming together way better than I expected, too. There’s a lot going on around town so we wanted to do something that was decisively comic book in nature, like building an 11-foot-tall interactive Action Comics #1 photo backdrop! Some assembly still required but it will be ready in the foyer next to the shop from July 9th to the 16th, so movie release weekend. It barely fits in there! (I also made a smaller car for kids to be able to hold.) We’ve been hoarding Superman comics from FCBD and Superman Day this year, as well as the new reprint of Krypto’s first appearance, so everyone stopping in those days will be able to grab some free comics as well! Honestly, all I ask for my efforts is that anyone posting their pictures on socials gives us a little shout out if they feel so inclined. Truth,...

Andrea’s Heatwave of Picks for 06.25.2025

Andrea’s Adventure Picks for 06.18.2025

Hi Comic Shop Friends! A couple of updates before we get to the new comics. You may have heard that while on vacation at the Dirty Dancing filming location, Carol broke a femur. Carol is doing well post-surgery, but because she’s in another state, John is working out getting her back home this week. John thanks everyone for their kind words, and as he says, “We had a good run before she fell in the evening. We even got her out to the dried-up lake where Johnny Castle did the lift in the water, so she stood on the exact same cinder blocks Patrick Swayze stood on in the scene.” That does mean that John will not be at this month’s events that he was looking forward to.  Send some good vibes for a safe trip back home for them, and a great recovery for Carol! So, John won’t be co-hosting this Wednesday’s Midnight Rental Secret Screening, but Ben will still be there! Stop out to the Grog Shop at 8pm for a surprise movie! Doors at 7pm, only $10!...
