Marvel Legacy #1 at CNJComics 9-27-2017

This is it! Marvel Legacy #1 comes out this Wednesday, September 27th, 2017! This is the beginning of Marvel’s new direction and their answer to DC’s Rebirth last year.  MARVEL LEGACY This issue features the return of the first of many classic Marvel characters. (I know who it is, and it is a big deal. The reveal made me breathe a big sigh of relief.) This issue also introduces the Avengers of one million BC, whose roster includes many of Marvel’s iconic characters who pass their mantle on over the generations, such as Doctor Strange, Phoenix, Iron Fist, Black Panther, Ghost Rider, Odin and Starbrand. Generations continues, Venomverse begins, the countdown to the Last Jedi starts, Bombshells begins anew and some pretty swell Omnibuses dot this weeks new release landscape.  Here’s the featured new releases coming out this Wednesday, September 6th, 2017.  FEATURED RELEASES We’ve got another month of Generations One Shots until Legacy #1 on September 27th. This week’s team up is classic Iron Man (hopefully drunk, but I think Riri has already experienced that) with Iron Heart by Brian Bendis. It looks like Infamous Iron Man (which I really like, being a Doom fan and all) and Invincible Iron Man will combine after the events of Legacy #1, as we’ll find out who really gets to carry the mantle.  FEATURED RELEASESIf there’s one thing people can never get enough of it’s Venom and Thanos. Not-At-Comicon Summer Sale at CNJComics 7-20 through 7-23

It’s time for one of our largest sales of the year, our annual ‘NOT-AT-COMICON’ Sale, timed to coincide with San Diego Comicon! (Just like we are.) This is one of two times in the year that we are able to pull all the comics out of our storage locker and back room and put them in the foyer for only $1.00 each. This includes unprocessed collections we have bought, including the remainder of York Comics inventory when they closed. It amounts to about 60,000 books toal at this point. To make things even better, this year when you buy books in increments of 100, the books are only 50 cents each. I.E. 100 books $50  105 books $55 dollars  200 books $100    220 books $120   etc… You have to buy in increments of 100 to get the bigger discount. (We figured this was way better than having to fill up an entire box to get a better rate.) We’ll also have 50% off all back issues in the shop. (Back issues means bagged and in the back issue bins.) Wonder Woman Day – 6-3-2017

This Saturday, June 3rd is Wonder Woman Day, celebrated in businesses off all sorts across the globe! Since we had a significant WW event last year in conjunction with Kent State University and the Cleveland Public Library, we decided to make this one pretty simple. The movie is holding at 94% on Rotten Tomatoes so we’re pretty excited that DC finally knocked one out of the park.   Stop by the shop this Saturday and we’ve got some pretty cool stuff for you, FREE with any purchase. Stuff like Wonder Woman Day Special Edition, a reprint of the first DC Rebirth issue.

Here’s the featured new releases coming out this Wednesday, May 24th, as well as some other things to keep an eye out for. FEATURED RELEASES With the announcement this week that Tom Hardy will play Venom, this week’s big new book is Venom #150, a giant sized issue featuring the return of Eddie Brock as Venom! Marvel’s also rounded up some of Venom’s classic writers and artists to fill up the pages. (Two characters that always sell in the shop are Venom and Thanos.)

Rickmobile Visits CNJComics on 5-30-2017

The rumors are true, fans of Rick and Morty unite as the Rickmobile makes it’s only Ohio stop at CNJComics! The Rickmobile is on a 50 stop tour cruising from Cartoon Network’s hometown in Atlanta to New York Comicon in October. This mobile piece of art is also a pop up store that contains exclusive Rick and Morty merchandise that you can’t find anywhere else. CNJComics has been chosen to be a part of this historic tour! Wubba-Lubba-Dub-Dub! The Rickmobile will be at the shop on Tuesday May 30th from 5pm to 8pm and in true CNJ fashion we’ve put together an event that celebrates our love of the show. First off, we’ll be flying in Kyle Starks, the writer and sometimes artist of the Rick and Morty Comic Books, for a signing. Kyle has written the book since issue #16, and also did the art on issues #20 and #25. This means he’s the writer of the entire Rick and Morty Volume Four Graphic Novel, which collects issues #16-20.
