It’s funny how comics unite us…

Today I called someone to have my air conditioning serviced as there was an issue where the house simply is not cooling down enough.. anyone in Cleveland area of late can likely understand this all too well.  Anyway, as we’re talking he mentions the person he works for a lot who is the brother-in-law of My friend and co-worker… said individual owns a restaurant in Cleveland on 40th.  I tell him I am not familiar with it and he relates that the restaurant scenes in American Splendor were filmed there.  I smile and nod and relate that the comic shop scenes were filmed with our own Carol and John’s. He laughed and began talking about Free Comic Book Day and the lines down the way, how he doesn’t attend too often but he has a few comics he cherishes such as Felix # 1.  It was a pleasant conversation about a medium of entertainment that we, two people with otherwise nothing in common, shared.
