Featured New Releases for 9-15-2021 at CNJComics

We’d like to start out by giving everyone a big thanks for supporting our pop up Genghis Con event. We got to raise some funds to help support these three fine individuals in their endevors to keep the con alive in 2022. We has a great time and I got to buy some art for the shop. We will continue to give away the Guardians of the Galaxy / Cleveland Guardians prints with a suggested five dollar donation that will go directly to Genghis Con. In case you don’t know what the con is about here’s a link to check them out! It’s a touch late, but here’s a fun video we made from our Free Comic Book Day photos! Also right quick, how about that Hawkeye trailer! I’ve always said there’s nothing like Christmas in New York! This will be great! People keep asking and the new printing of the complete Fraction Clint/Kate graphic novel is due out on November 3rd. On to this week’s new releases!  MARVL BOOK(s) Fantastic Four has a huge $9.99 issues that’s really great....

DC’s Future State is Here at CNJComics 1-6-2021

It’s a great start to the New Year, with a beginning and an end at DC, as well as some great Marvel books and Crossover #3 as well! Here’s the featured new releases coming out this Wednesday, January 6th, 2021! DC’s Future State While it’s been a crazy ride, Dark Nights Death Metal ends on a high note, with a really heartfelt final issue.  The series has been a commentary on the state of DC Comics, from big crossovers to the mess they’ve made with continuity over the years. Rest assured that at the end of this book, it’s reinforced that all the stories matter. The whole issue just felt very comforting.  Another stray comic left over from whatever Dan Didio was going to do with his now dead DC5G project was the $9.99 Generations Shattered One Shot.  A team is pulled together from across the Multiverse to tell the history of the DC Universe. (I did not get to read this issue yet, so I’m just going with the copy.) Now let’s jump into the six Future State books...

Free Comic Book Day Summer Ends This Weekend

Free Comic Book Day Summer Ends This Weekend

We have a tradition each year where Jameson signs 100 FREE copies of his yearly FCBD lithograph, and we decided to keep this alive on the final weekend of Free Comic Book Day Summer. Jameson has signed and number 100 prints and we will give them away starting at 10 am on Saturday September 12th. We will continue to hand them out into Sunday (and even Monday) if they’re still around. Thanks to everyone who has bought a print up to this point. You have done your duty to keep the ‘event’ afloat, and we never needed a go fund me to finance it. We hope there will be a Free Comic Book Day next year, but if circumstances prevent it we will bounce back in some manner. The most important thing about FCBD wasn’t the comics, it was you, the community. We’ll figure something out. There are three new FREE books this week, and here’s a list of them and what’s left over from previous weeks. All Ages: Sue and Tai-Chan Only a Matter of Space Time Super Mercado...

TOGETHER with CNJComics

TOGETHER with CNJComics

I never wanted to board up the windows of our shop, but I thought about it for a moment there. That made me realize I’d rather stand behind the values I learned reading comics as a kid then operate behind a wall of fear. Instead, I decided to commission some artwork to hang in our windows that remind me of those values, that we are always stronger when our friendships include as much diversity as possible. That’s something I feel I can stand proudly in front of. Captain America meets the Falcon in 1969. Steve Rogers is the World War II hero that came home to a Vietnam welcome. He spends a great deal of that time alone, and suffering from PTSD from losing his best friend in the war. When he runs into Sam Wilson he not only needs a friend, he needs something to widen his gaze enough to look beyond his own issues. Help others to help yourself. Sam needs someone to point him in the right direction to assume the mantle of the Falcon, as much...

Featured New Releases for 10-2-2019

Featured New Releases for 10-2-2019

We could just go on and sing the praises of some of the best stories on the market right now. (Yes, Absolute Carnage Immortal Hulk is out this week by Al Ewing. Yes, Batman and Catwoman head back to Gotham to retake the city in Batman #80. And yes, House of X #6 is this week as well.) But instead, let’s enjoy then season and talk about some Halloween related titles coming out this week! I’m sensing a theme here… Here’s the featured new releases coming out this Wednesday, October 2nd, 2019!  DCeased #5 (of 6) continues Tom Taylor’s DCU zombie story. This book has had some great horror homage covers and has been a fun read all around. Taylor did some great work universe building early on with the Injustice books.  Marvel’s following suit with a weekly five-issue mini-series called “Contagion”, which obviously has some zombie elements to it.  Those Mole People always looked like they had something.  It’s not necessarily horror per se, but Ghost Rider’s new ongoing features the reunion of Johnny Blaze and Danny Ketch.  With...
