Andrea’s Merry Picks for 12.04.2024

Welcome to December, Comic Shop Friends! As we enter the last month of the year, it’s time to give you all a reminder to come in and clear out your files. It helps us clear out stock and get any unwanted/closed file books out for seasonal shopping. It’s also a good time to update your pull lists, so we can go into the new year fresh and get you all the awesome titles you’d like! Again, there have been delays with some shipments due to Diamond consolidating warehouses and the holiday affecting all of the distributors we use, so we are waiting on updates on some new small press titles and reorders. Thanks for your patience with this! We will be skipping Late Nite Comics for the month of December because it would fall during the week of the Art Show, and we’re gearing up for the Holiday Party. We are still asking for submissions for our Holiday Art Show! The theme is a homage to a classic comic book cover, and you can interpret that however you’d like. We...

Artists Wanted and Novemeber Events at CNJComics

Since 2013 we’ve hosted a Holiday Art Show to benefit the Greater Cleveland Food Bank, where local artists create custom comic book covers that are won in a basket raffle system where one dollar gets you one ticket towards the cover of your choice. We’re excited to announce that this year’s theme is “Homage (to a classic comic book cover)!” Here’s how you participate! Please stop by the shop and pick up a blank comic cover from us. They are free of charge and you can do two if you like. Please complete the cover with any medium you choose. (This includes digital. Many people now print their art out on cardstock and glue it to the book’s cover.) Give us your interpretation of the theme, which we see as a tribute to a classic comic book cover. This can have a holiday component, or not, that’s all up to you as the artist. The artwork must be turned in by Sunday, December 15th at 5pm. Please keep artwork to the front of the cover only, we only have the...

Andrea’s Thanksgiving Parade of Picks for 11.27.24

Happy Thanksgiving Comic Shop Friends! First, a reminder that we will be closed on Thursday for the holiday. Second, there are some delays for some small press titles as Diamond is in the process of consolidating warehouses, but those books should be in your files next week. We received DC and Image books late this week, so I didn’t get to read those for the email, but they will be in your files for tomorrow! Thanks for your patience with the shipping delays in recent months. Third, we have new stickers! They’re $2 each, and we have one with our short box logo and one to show your support for your local comic shop! Fourth, thanks to our regular customer Sam, of Sonny Boy Comics, for showing off the shop in his new video about Late Nite Comics and his purchase of an Invincible collection from John Shearer! (Who he calls an “absolute legend.”) Here’s the YouTube video: Running Friday through Sunday, it’s our Black Friday Weekend Sale! We’re filling the foyer with dollar stock that will be 50 cents...
