Hey Comic Shop Friends! We’ve been doing some new year cleaning and rearranging here at the shop, so come take a look at our re-done graphic novel wall! Ben’s been pulling out discount graphic novels, and everything has been labeled with new shelf tags. We also made space for a Staff Picks shelf! I sold my first pick, Red Room, the first full day the new shelf was up. We’ll rotate these frequently, so take a look and pick up something new! We also moved all the Local Comics together on the back wall display. They’re faced out and easier to browse! We welcome any local comic writers and artists who want to sell their books to bring them in. Lastly, Late Nite Comics is back on Thursday, January 19th, 8pm to midnight! We’ll be open late and John just announced that back issues will be 50% off! (Sorry, no wall books included.) And 70, yes SEVENTY, long boxes of 50 cent stock will be out! Hi Comic Shop Friends! We’re starting out the new year with a pretty quiet week. We do have free Marvel 2023 calendars to give out while supplies last, and Marvel previews should be here next week. Thanks to everyone who came in (or called) to pick up your files! John’s working through a large new collection and did a wall rerack on Monday with lots of Star Wars, Venom, and Spider-Man, and we’re starting to work through more back issues from our backlog, so stop in and check out what’s new. In other news, Late Nite Comics will return on January 19th! No word on what sales will happen that night, but it’s always a good time to hang out and dig through long boxes to find weird cool stuff. We’re getting ready for the new year, so that means some news and then on to a few new books to finish out December. We will be closed on New Year’s Day, January 1st, 2023. We are extending the 50% off all back issues to the end of the year! Yes, that’s wall books too! We know you got gift certificates for Christmas, so stop in and use them! And now a couple of PSAs from John: “Hey! It’s that time of year again! If you have a file, please come in to clear it out by the end of the year or you are in danger of having your books put out and your file canceled! Like a car dealership, we pay inventory taxes on unsold items at year’s end, so those books someone hasn’t picked up start costing us money on January 1st. I get the job of personally contacting the top ten offenders, a job that Carol used to have back in the day. It sucks, but it sucks more when people don’t pick up the stuff...

Happy Holidays Comic Shop Friends! It’s a light week new comic-wise (There’s not even any new Image #1s!) but there’s lots of news! First, thanks to all of you who donated, we were able to gift the Cleveland Food Bank enough to create 24,900 meals! This blows away our previous record of 20,360 in 2020! Thank you to the artists who donated covers for the raffle, thank you to all of you who purchased raffle tickets, and thank you to the community that has formed around the shop. We could not have done it without all of you! Thank you to all of you for stopping in and shopping at our Holiday Party, from all of us! Here’s all the info on this year’s Holiday Party / Sale / and Fundraiser for the Greater Cleveland Food Bank! Yes! Our in-person Holiday Party is back! First up, let’s talk about our annual Art Show! For years we’ve been hosting an art show where local artists of all backgrounds create custom comic book covers that we display in the foyer attached to the shop. This year’s theme is “Spider-Verse,” and the show will run from Wednesday, December 14th, to Saturday, December 17th. Covers are won through a basket raffle system where one dollar gets you one ticket toward the cover of your choice. (You can also get a six-pack of tickets for five dollars.) All the money collected goes to the Greater Cleveland Food Bank , who has the incredible power to turn one dollar into four full meals for those in need! Hi Comic Shop Friends! It’s Holiday Party week, so we’re busy getting everything ready for Saturday night. Thanks to everyone who submitted covers for our charity Art Show. We have 140 covers that you’ll be able to pick from for the raffle to benefit the Cleveland Food Bank. Art will be displayed starting tomorrow, Wednesday the 14th, through Saturday the 17th, and you can purchase raffle tickets starting tomorrow. Our Holiday Party is 8 pm to 11 pm this Saturday, and during party hours you can get one item 50% off!
