So, the big news this week is that we are opening up the foyer again with 150 long boxes of Marvel and DC comics in there for only $1.00 each. (50 cents each for 100 or more!) The Bins are Open That’s about 50,000 comics and a majority of them are in order too. They’ll be in the foyer from Wednesday September 9th till end of day Monday, September 14th. (We thought we’d add one more day after the weekend.) Opening the foyer adds five to our occupancy limit but try and keep a respectful distance from everyone while you’re digging. DC New Releases New releases this week include DC’s Death Metal Trinity Crisis One Shot, which is written by Scott Snyder and ties directly into Death Metal. The big three are back again, and they’re up against the Anti Monitor, Superboy Prime and Darkseid. (dare I hope this pokes a little fun at previous crises?) Let’s beginning by saying this week’s Free Comic Book Day Summer discount is 10% off all graphic novels and hardcovers from Wednesday September 2nd to Sunday September 6th! It’s a good time to stock up on some new reading material and we’ve even got some suggestions below. DC COMICS This week’s lead is the continuation of Joker War in Batman #98! This is part four is a six part storyline that began in issues #95 and will end in issue #100. It’s written by James Tynion IV, from BOOM’s horror hit Something is Killing the Children. We do have all issues in stock, as well as most of the tie ins. Batman spends most of the story poisoned and high. Here’s a full checklist since we haven’t put one out there yet. Three Jokers It’s been over four years since Geoff Johns revealed that there were actually three Jokers running around in the DC Universe in Justice League #50. (This was pre Rebirth for Pete’s sake.) This Wednesday we FINALLY get to read the story that Johns has been cooking up with Jason Fabok. A $6.99 prestige format three issue mini series drawn in the ‘style’ of the Killing Joke elaborating on the nature of the three Jokers. Both Barbara Gordon and Jason Todd have some serious baggage from past Joker encounters that will be on display here. (Remember when the world voted to have Robin killed? Jeez.) We wanted to do something special for each week of Free Comic Book Day Summer, and this week we’re going to keep it easy and offer 50% off all back issues. We’ve got alot going on at the shop this week, but the top of the charts is this: SMALL PRESS SALE We have over 90 long boxes of small press comics (meaning anything except Marvel and DC) going into the foyer for only $1.00 each. (buy 100 or more and we’ll make that 50 cents each.) Everytime we buy a collection the small press goes into a storage locker that has been building and building. I personally move them all into the foyer next to the shop where they will be all weekend. A majority of this stuff has never been picked through and it is in -some- semblance of order. We will likely not do this again for a long long time so take advantage of this opportunity.
