The Death of Wolverine on 10-15-2014

It’s true. Wolverine will die this week. Here’s some featured new releases for the week of 10-15-2014 Death of Wolverine #4 is finally here, along with some pretty neat books to go with it. Charles Soule and Steve McNiven have delivered a well-crafted story about Wolverine’s final days. Every issue has been a sell out and this one looks to be no different. Though we’re sure he’ll be back sometime, for now the death is final. You can chalk it up as a publicity stunt or enjoy it for the great read it is.

October is National Bullying Prevention Month at CNJComics

October is National Bullying Prevention Month. Marvel Comics has inspired us by releasing some really cool Anti Bullying Variants. As these book were limited, we were worried about the accessibility of these really cool pieces of artwork. So, working with the Scribble Nerds, we have created seven different stickers, one from each member, to help capture the spirit of Marvel’s endeavors locally. A FULL set of these 3 x 3 stickers will be FREE with the purchase of ANY graphic novel through out the month October. (Yup, that includes anything out of the discount bins too)

Marvel AXIS and new comic releases for the week of 10-8-2014

Marvel AXIS and new comic releases for the week of 10-8-2014

If last week was an 80 yard rush, this week is a 9 yard push to the 1 yard line. (or whatever. I’m a nerd.) Anyway, we’re keeping last week’s energy and moving forward with it! Here’s the spectacular new releases for the week of Wednesday, October 8th! Avengers and X-Men AXIS #1 is here! This is easily the year’s biggest Marvel event. Rick Remender has been writing some of the best Avengers work I’ve ever read over in the pages of Uncanny Avengers. (And that’s coming from a very classic Marvel background) Seeds were sown there that have lead up to this nine issue series written by Rick himself and drawn by Adam Kubert, Leinil Yu, Terry Dodson and Jim Cheung. During this series Marvel heroes and villains will be flipped on their moral axis, and that doesn’t just mean heroes become villains and vice versa. It’s much more complex than that. Here’s a quick primer to get you ready. We’ll be handing out free lithographs and free inversion loopers (?!) with the first 150 copies sold!

(It’s cool too know that she approves of the book.) We should have enough copies of this book to make it through the weekend!

Banned Books Week…

Banned Books Week…

We’re going to bypass our usual weekly email and do something special this week. It’s Banned Books week, and this year the powers that be have decided to focus on banned graphic novels.

New Comic Releases for the week of 9-17-2014

Greetings! Here’s the featured new releases for the week of September 17th, 2014. With excitement building about the new female Thor, we first have to learn what happened to the old one. Thor #25 will be a double sized issue featuring an amazing artist line up and written by Jason Aaron. What did Nick Fury say to Thor in Original Sin that made him not worthy? There’s some cool variants too, like Bisley, Guera and Manara! (oh no, not Manara!)
