We’ve got a full order of some pretty disconnected yet fun stuff this week. Take a look and see if there’s anything the resonates with you! One of the most anticipated books of the year comes out this week, and it’s not even a new story. After 20 years of legal mumbo jumbo, personality conflicts, and copyright battles, we are finally going to get a chance to read Alan Moore’s classic tale MiracleMan. Don’t know the story of MiracleMan? From my point of view all you need to know is this. Alan Moore, writer of the Watchman, has a hidden classic out there called MiracleMan that hasn’t seen the light of day in two decades. It’s become a cult following and honestly and not sure if that’s from quality of work or from lack of accessibility. Most likely a little of both. As the end of the year is here, we’d just like to thank everyone who made our Christmas party and holiday season a success! The results of our food drive are in! Working hand in hand with POP! The Comic Culture Club ( check them out here!http://popcomicclub.com/ ) we were able to raise $915.75 and collect over 1,200 food item! The Cleveland Food Bank is one of the most amazing charities in the city and what they can do with a one dollar donation is truly remarkable. Thanks to your help over 4000 meals will be created in addition to the food items collected! Hey everyone! Just a heads up that New Comic Book Day is now on Tuesday, December 24th this week! We will be open all day on Tuesday, from noon until 8pm, for all your last minute Christmas Shopping needs (last minute gist certificates) and to make sure you can grab these great books! Every year comic book shops nationally experience what is called a ‘skip week’, a week in which no new comic books come out. Last year Marvel Comics fixed that and decided to produce one great comic book, Amazing Spider Man #700, to release that week. This year Marvel, DC and other small press companies have followed suit by released one or two books they are really proud of. I have read all the books below and I can proudly state that this is a great week for new comics! First Up, AVENGERS #24.NOW!
