Hey there, everybody. Welcome to another week of great comics at Carol and John’s Comic Shop! The weather is slowly warming up and so are the comic book storylines. There’s a big new event starting up in the Bat-corner of DC Universe and the mutants of Krakoa are plotting big things as well at Marvel. We’ve got plenty of other books too this week, so let’s see what’s good. DC Comics It’s the Bat-Crossover of the spring, with the Shadow War event beginning in Shadow War Alpha new this week. The League of Shadows are gunning for Deathstroke’s head! After the shocking assassination of [REDACTED], Batman and Damian Wayne’s Robin will try to beat the League of Shadows in a race to get to Deathstroke and bring him to justice. Hey there, Carol and John’s Shoppers. This month is flying by, and I think part of that is because of just how great each week has been for new comics. This week is another biggie, so buckle up, it’s a good one. DC Comics New from DC’s Black Label imprint (and finally something that isn’t Batman-related for once), writer Joshua Williamson and artist Leomacs team up for a new miniseries called Rogues. The Flash and Central City have some of the coolest and most unique villains in the DC Universe, and in this series, Captain Cold brings the gang back together again for a neo-noir heist, unlike anything the city has ever had seen. “Ten years ago, the Rogues disbanded and went their separate ways. Hey, Carol and John’s Shoppers! Raf here delivering some of the new releases we have in store this week. We’ve got a lot to cover, including some new number #1s, a few shop favorites finally available in trade, and a raffle opportunity for the rest of the week. Let’s go! DC Comics Mark Waid returns to DC Comics this week with the launch of Batman Superman World’s Finest! Set in the not-too-distant past, Metropolis is attacked by Poison Ivy bringing the Caped Crusader and the Boy Wonder, Robin, into the City of Tomorrow. There, they will cross paths with Superman and the villain Metallo, and from then on, all hell breaks loose. Supes gets injected with a dangerous mix of red Kryptonite and causes a number of different reactions inside of the Man of Steel. I may have missed it myself, but I heard it was a big success from all the guys back here at the shop. It’s really sort of an inside joke where we would piggy back on Wizard World’s social media when they first came to Cleveland, to draw people from the convention to our shop for a sale. Well, Wizard World is gone (to be replaced by Fan Expo at a later date.) but Winston World is still here! Greetings Carol and John’s Comic Shoppers! It’s a new month which means the monthly cycle of comics resets. All is right in the world… the world of comics that is at least. This weekend is our big Winston World sale (more on that later) and we’ve got a GREAT week of new comics to celebrate the occasion. DC especially has a big week this week as they prepare for the new Batman movie’s premiere in just a few short days. I’ll be out of town this weekend going to Niagara Falls, but I made sure my girlfriend knew that that didn’t mean she’d get to miss out on her boy Robert Pattinson on the big screen.
