It’s a spectacular week of new releases, with DC finally shining with some titles to tie into the release of the Joker this past weekend.  Here’s the featured new releases coming out this Wednesday, October 9th, 2019. Out first book is a Joker Year of the Villain one-shot written by legendary director John Carpenter! Featured New Releases for 10-2-2019

We could just go on and sing the praises of some of the best stories on the market right now. (Yes, Absolute Carnage Immortal Hulk is out this week by Al Ewing. Yes, Batman and Catwoman head back to Gotham to retake the city in Batman #80. And yes, House of X #6 is this week as well.) But instead, let’s enjoy then season and talk about some Halloween related titles coming out this week! I’m sensing a theme here… Here’s the featured new releases coming out this Wednesday, October 2nd, 2019!  DCeased #5 (of 6) continues Tom Taylor’s DCU zombie story. This book has had some great horror homage covers and has been a fun read all around. Taylor did some great work universe building early on with the Injustice books.  Marvel’s following suit with a weekly five-issue mini-series called “Contagion”, which obviously has some zombie elements to it.  Those Mole People always looked like they had something.  It’s not necessarily horror per se, but Ghost Rider’s new ongoing features the reunion of Johnny Blaze and Danny Ketch.  With...

Here’s the featured new releases for Wednesday, September 25th, 2019! MARVEL TITLES Absolute Carnage moves forward with two new crossovers this week, Amazing Spider-Man #30 and Absolute Carnage Miles Morales #2! The covers pretty much sell themselves. We’ll also have 4th prints of Absolute Carnage #1, 2nd prints of #2 and more 1st prints of #3. Powers of X #5 is this week. Just a reminder that Thursday, October 10th at 8:15pm is our first ever book club, and we’ll be covering the whole House of X and Powers of X series since it will conclude with Powers of X #6 on the 9th. We’re be covering each issue briefly, looking for stuff you may not have known. We’ll also bring some conceptual questions to the floor, so be ready to get into a little philosophy. Batman Day and Featured New Releases for 9-18-2019 at CNJComics

There’s lots of great stories going on right now, and the top three are all represented in this weeks’ picks! We also have some info for you on this Saturday’s ‘Batman Day’ which basically features some FREE comics and discounts on Batman books and merchandise.  Here’s the featured new releases coming out this Wednesday, September 18th, 2019! (My birthday!) ABSOLUTE CARNAGE Absolute Carnage is the 90’s story you always wanted but crafted with a modern feel. It really shows how far comics have come when you hold this series up against the original “Maximum Carnage”, which we sold a lot of back in the day! In addition to a new issue of the core series, we also have a new issue of Lethal Protectors, and reprints of Scream #1 and the Separation Anxiety One Shot coming in.  Don’t get overwhelmed by crossovers if you don’t want to, the core five issue mini series is enough. Wow! It’s about to be another great week at the comic book shop with some spectacular new releases! Here’s the featured new releases coming out this Wednesday, September 4th, 2019! Spawn 300 First up is Spawn #300, setting the record for the longest-running independent comic in history! Oversized $7.99 issue, lots of covers to choose from, with interior art by Greg Capullo, J Scott Campbell and Todd MacFarlane himself! Scott Snyder even has a few words in there! Come early on Wednesday to get your copy, because they will go fast and our distributor is out of stock! Marvel Comics House of X #4 is here, but the really big news is we have big stacks of the third prints of both House and Powers of X #1! Mark your calendar for Thursday, October 10th! Marvel Comics #1000 and Featured New Releases at CNJComics 8-28-2018

This is a huge week, but by far the biggest stand out is the epic Marvel Comics #1000! One huge $9.99 perfect bound book with an incredible list of creators! I had a chance to read this book last month and I’m a big fan. Every page is a quick vignette representing a different year in Marvel’s history, starting with the first panel of Marvel Comics #1. The core backstory was written by Al Ewing of Immortal Hulk. It’s not going to be for everyone but I really enjoyed the format and the history involved.  Here’s Marvel’s promo video, as this book made a big splash at D23 last week.  We have a lot of covers coming in so come in early on Wednesday to pick yours out!
