We’re pleased to announce that Winston World was apparently a phenomenal success and will be back next year! Winston handed out tons of paw-to-graphs and attendance was through the roof! We’ll be sure to figure out a way to make it bigger and better next year. Jim and I just got back from our yearly ComicsPro meeting in Portland Oregon, meeting with the best retailers and vendors in the industry, and walked away with many ways to improve the shop. We even gave a lecture ourselves on marketing and event planning in your comic shop. But first… …here’s the new comic releases for the week of Wednesday February 11th, 2015!  Harley Quinn is celebrating Valentine’s Day in a brand new special from DC Comics! Harley Quinn wins a date with Bruce Wayne for Valentine’s Day, but she has no idea who he really is in the Harley Quinn Valentine’s Day Special #1. There will even be a sketch cover for artists who would like to draw their own cover as a gift. (If you’re going to give a folded piece of cardboard as a gift then it might as well have some pages in it. )

Here’s the featured new releases for the week of Wednesday, February 4th 2015. This week starts the new crossover between the Guardians of the Galaxy and the X-Men in Black Vortex Alpha #1. Black Vortex Alpha #1 kicks off a 13 part three month long crossover. Starlord has to steal the “Black Vortex” before billions of lives are lost. This first issue is by Sam Humphries and Ed McGuinness.

Here’s the featured new comic releases for the week of Wednesday, January 28th, 2015. First up is Marvel’s reboot of the popular Uncanny Avengers title. Uncanny Avengers #1 is by the regular team of Rick Remender and Daniel Acuna. The first run was easily my favorite Avengers run in the last 15 years, and this weird new line up looks to be fun. We’ll get to see the Vision, Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver spotlighted before the movie comes out this May.

Spider-Man and Spider-Verse will be our theme for the week, as four new related titles are coming in including the penultimate Amazing Spider-Man #13! Here’s the featured new releases for the week of Wednesday, January 21st. Spider-Verse has been one of the most satisfying story lines of the past year.
