Featured New Releases For 9-19-2018
We’ve got some great stuff coming in this week, the kind of stuff that’s worth a special trip to the comic shop!
Wolverine is back, Batman starts off DC’s new Black Label brand and we’ve got some great $1.00 reprints from Marvel!
Here’s the featured new releases coming out this Wednesday, September 19th, 2018!
BATMAN
The big book this week is Batman Damned #1, DC’s first Black Label book, meaning adults only! Azzarello and Berjemo are a dream team on this $6.99 off format 3 issue mini series.
The Joker is dead, Batman can’t remember if he did it, and John Constantine has to help him figure things out. I read a preview and it’s great. Good Zatanna material too. (Watch out for Bruce Wayne’s wiener though. No joke.)
You will also want to keep an eye on Batman #55 this week, as something happens to Nightwing that will have major ramifications for awhile. You’ve been warned!
WOLVERINE AND MARVEL
After years and years of waiting, a big hole in the Marvel Universe is about to be filled. Wolverine is back by the people who killed him, Charles Soule and Steve McNiven.
Return of Wolverine is a five issue mini series explaining how Logan came back from the dead. We’ll have a free lithograph to hand out with the first 40 copies sold as well. It’s been four years Logan, welcome back!
If you’ve been enjoying Infinity Wars, which I actually have, the first of the Infinity Warps titles is out.
Solider Supreme is a two issue mini series featuring a mash up of Captain America and Doctor Strange! Be on the look out for more of these like Moon Knight Spider-Man and Iron Man Thor, X-23 Scarlet Witch and Black Panther Ghost Rider!
Marvel regularly releases $1.00 True Believer Reprints, but this week all four are truly great books.
You can get one dollar reprints of the Punisher’s first appearance in ASM #129, Mike Zeck’s first issue of the Punisher mini series, The first appearance of Iron Fist in Marvel Premiere, and the first meeting of Power Man and Iron Fist in Luke Cage’s own title!
Seriously, four bucks for a great history lesson.
This is seriously a huge new comic day, so be sure to give yourself time to check out the whole table!
We’ve also been getting in more discounted graphic novels, as part of reinventing that section of the shop. If you’ve been in there, you know the books are super cheap now. This week a stand out is Wolverine Enemy of the State by Mark Millar and John Romita Jr.
Regularly $29,99, this book is only $8.00 and it a great story where Wolverine rips his way through the entire Marvel Universe without holding back. Same guy who wrote Kick Ass, Civil War and the original Old Man Logan!
