MARVEL COMICS
Miles Morales has returned from the Ultimate Universe with four Origin Boxes. He plans to give them to Tony Stark for safekeeping, so they don’t fall into the wrong hands, but an unknown employer has hired the Spot to snatch them from Spider-Man. But neither one will be successful, as the Origin Boxes make their way to five new characters, leading to the creation of new superpowered beings on both sides of a conflict that will shape the future of the 616! In the 6160’s Negative Zone, Hostilicus the Devastator is leading the Warriors of Annihilus on a quest to cleanse the cosmos of the False Ones. And with Mar-Vell’s Nega-Bands, he just may be successful. Written by Chris Condon with art by Stefano Caselli.
Want to know what happens with another Origin Box? Then read the final issue of Wolverine: Weapons of Armageddon. Wolverine and Colton face a final battle to keep the Box out of the hands of Pruet, before more super soldiers are unleashed! The stage is set for the next Avengers epic, as Wolverine must make a choice that will have ramifications for the entire Marvel Universe! Armageddon Assembles in one month in Chip Zdarsky, Delio Diaz, and Frank Alpizar’s Avengers Armageddon #1!
The Fantastic Four are deciding what they want the new Future Foundation to be, but none of them can agree on what the future looks like. But their decision is put on hold when my new favorite character Crimeasaurus Rex shows up! Doom’s technology is making its way into the hands of criminals, and it’s affecting the Fantastic Four. Can they overcome their frustration, Doom’s old tech, and Crimeasaurus Rex, so they can get back to the Future Foundation? Ben has ideas to solve all of those, and only a little bit is clobberin’! Another excellent issue from Ryan North, with artist Patrick Boutin, and if you want to start reading Fantastic Four, this is a wonderful issue to start with. Plus, a fun bonus story from Stan Sakai featuring Mole Man!

Following the murder of Oliver Queen in the Absolute Evil one-shot, someone decides it’s time to make billionaires pay for their crimes, and they’re starting with someone who had ties to Queen. Forced to take a job from Hector Hammond, protection specialist Dinah Lance now has to protect Hammond and pharmaceutical CEO Reese Tyler. They may be the killer’s next targets, and Dinah’s skills as a former police officer, MMA fighter, and her history with Oliver, make her the perfect person to uncover the murderer’s identity. As she works her way through a list of suspects, she’ll also uncover secrets that Oliver Queen had securely hidden. What was he up to? Was he working the system in order to do good? Or were there other motives? Will learning the truth of her former friend lead Dinah to the Green Arrow’s identity? Without the money, without mercy, what’s left is the Absolute hunter! Pornsak Pichetshote and Rafael Albuquerque present a dangerous urban horror murder mystery in this six-issue mini-series. SMALL PRESS COMICS
The first of IDW’s new Crime line, Seven Wives from writer Zoe Tunnell and artist V Gagnon sets up a murder investigation within the compound of a Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints family. The patriarch of the Dunn family, Matthew, has been found stabbed forty-nine times, on the pulpit of his temple. Now Detectives Aguilar and Halwell are faced with questioning Dunn’s seven wives, all of them hiding the truth of their lives behind a wall of Scripture and platitudes. But the cracks begin to show, and Detective Aguilar knows what abuse the seven women are hiding. As the truth of living and surviving within this cult comes to light, the question still remains, who killed Matthew Dunn? What unholy gospel has he spread, that would give each of the women a motive? A dense first issue, that sets up each character well, and presents the secret horror of the family’s lives in a way that makes you uncomfortable, but pulls you into the mystery.
Perfect for folk horror fans, James Tynion IV, Marguerite Bennett, and Letizia Cadonici’s new series follows undercover journalist Adela, as she insinuates herself into a group of young Neo Nazis. They believe they will achieve their promised white destiny by following a map into the forests of Norway, and summoning Odin with blood magic. What awaits them deep in the frozen wilderness is far older and far stranger than any of them could comprehend. They think themselves special, they think they’re chosen, but there are no gods answering these Nazi’s prayers for help. Adela wanted to document the rise of white supremacy in Gen Z spaces, and those who hunger for money, power, and fame. What she’ll witness is the rise of something ancient, and she’ll be thrust into an unsettling horror story that leaves no taboo unbroken.
John Carpenter’s The Thing meets Blood Simple with a dash of Tremors in an eco-horror noir mini-series from writers Chris Condon and Andrea Ehrich, and artist Charlie Adlard. Tabby is fleeing someone. Someone who threatens to track her down. She has a basket of cash in her car, and she’s heading back to her hometown of Solitude, Texas. But things are different at her Gramma’s home, there’s an oil well in the yard, and Gramma is different now too. The legends of the Wildcatter, a creature that emerges from deep underground, are well known in the area. Dismissed as a myth, there may be more truth to the legend than anyone knows, and Tabby will have another threat adding to her paranoia. A sweat soaked thriller of a woman trying to outrun her past, and running headfirst into terror.
