The Avengers are assembling once more! I hope you’ve been reading Captain America and Avengers: Armageddon, because this leads directly out of those stories. The United Nations has passed the Superpowers Resolution, banning the use of superpowers, but the U.S. was one of the few countries to abstain. The Avengers disbanded. Captain Marvel has lost 90% of her powers. Iron Man has left town. David Colton has new powers he doesn’t understand. Bucky has died. Spider-Man’s spider sense is a steady underlying hum. Something is wrong, and he’s not the only one who feels it. A new threat has come to New York, and it’s time for a new group of Earth’s mightiest heroes to assemble! Chip Zdarsky and Marco Checchetto put together a team with Spider-Man, Luke Cage, Daredevil, Captain Marvel, Wolverine, and Colton, to go up against a hell of a threat!
She may not have Venom any more, but Mary Jane isn’t done with symbiotes just yet! She can say she’s done with the hero business, but when Stilt-Man shows up, she and her symbiote sidekick Fang jump right back in. If someone needs help, she’s going to help them, but her new producing career is taking priority. When her investor ghosts her, Mary Jane turns to another funding source, but what happened to Davis Prescott? Will Mary Jane’s Off-Broadway play make it to the stage? Or will she have to put her production on pause to deal with Davis’s disappearance? Find out as an all-new chapter starts for MJ in Ashley Allen and Phil Noto’s Friendly Neighborhood Mary Jane!
Spider-Woman’s 50th anniversary continues with an all-new series! Dan Watters and Andrea Broccardo bring an old foe back from the dead, as Jessica Drew is pulled into a mystery involving every criminal organization in the city! Has the Hangman returned? And if so, who is he working for? Drew thinks it’s Tombstone, and her visit to him reveals that she may not be as in control of Carnage’s influence as she believes. It’s bloody and brutal, and it’s leading to what may be Spider-Woman’s darkest adventure yet. Especially when someone comes calling for Carnage…

Take “A Walk in the Mind of a Madman” as Jason Aaron, with artists Juan Ferreyra, Carmine Di Giandomenico, and Rafa Sandoval, wrap up the Get Brainiac storyline, and set the stage for what’s to come! We’re treated to some lovely moments with Kal-El’s parents on Krypton, and some brutal moments of the final confrontation between Superman and Brainiac on Earth. As a seemingly never-ending barrage of Brainiac clones rain down destruction, the only chance Superman has is to accept Brainiac’s invitation to enter his mind. Meanwhile, Lois Lane visits Lex Luthor, offering to help him find who killed his family, but she finds a broken man. Does Lex know more than he’s letting on? After everything that Brainiac has thrown at Superman, will Kal finally be able to best him?

From writer Patrick Horvath, the creator of Beneath the Trees Where Nobody Sees, and artist Tyler Crook comes Archie in Hell! Following directly from the first Exquisite Corpses series, writer Pornsak Pichetshote and artist Alberto Ponticelli follow survivors Laura, Xavi, and Jason as they try to carve out a normal life two years after living through a night of terror. They want to use the blood stained winnings to help others, they want to forget the 13 Families, they want to be forgotten and left to live their lives, but the Lone Gunman won’t let them. Haunted by the experience, Laura and the boys see reminders everywhere on Halloween. But this year the legacy of the golden mask is coming back with a vengeance! The Lone Gunman has a history, and Laura is about to come face-to-face with it, as their lives are put in danger once again. Who is this new Gunman? Why are they coming after Jason, Xavi, and Laura now? This isn’t just an origin story like the Fox Mask Killer and Rascal Randy minis are set up to be, this is digging into the trauma and repercussions of living through a horrible event, and about trying to make something good out of a terrible experience.
Archimedes Anderson has just started his new job as the Chief Coordinator of R&D in the “Mad Science Division” of Miyashi-Smith. He’s young, he’s inexperienced, and he’s only been hired because his father is a higher up in the company. Told to slash programs and keep the budget in check, he buries himself in files, and as the “cut” pile grows he comes across a file for supercocaine. That one’s a keeper, but most of the current projects are not. Including the one that follows him home one night. Archimedes quickly learns he has no idea what is actually going on in the Bioengineering department, section one. Or section two: Nonlethal Bioweaponry, or section three: Cybernetics and Neural Engineering, or section four: Lethal Bioweaponry, and especially not section five: Classified. Destroying projects, removing protections for employees and the public, and disrupting the delicate equilibrium within the department is not going to end well for Mr. Anderson, or for anyone. What other weird science horrors will be revealed in Dan Watters and Brian Level’s new series? I can’t wait to find out!
