Happy Holidays Comic Shop Friends! We’re all making plans here at the shop for our Holiday Party on December 17th, 8 pm to 11 pm, and getting excited for the Art Show! A reminder that your art is due by 5 pm on Sunday, December 11th, so we can get it all ready to display on the 14th. It will be up through the party, and we’ll draw raffle winners at 10 pm that night. Raffle tickets are $1 each and benefit the Cleveland Food Bank. Hello Comic Shop Friends! We have announcements and then on to a few new books for this small week. Another reminder about our Holiday Art Show to benefit the Cleveland Food Bank! This year’s theme is Spider-Verse! Stop in the shop to sign up and pick up a blank cover. All art is due back by December 11th, and we’ll display it starting December 14th through our Holiday Party on the 17th. Yes, that means we are bringing back our in-person Holiday Party on Saturday, December 17th, from 8 pm to 11 pm! Keep an eye out for a 50% off one-item discount for use only during the party! At 10 pm that night, we’ll draw winners for the Art Show raffle. Tickets are $1 each or 6 for $5, and every dollar will go to the Cleveland Food Bank. They can create four full meals out of one dollar, and the shop has donated enough to help the Food Bank create over 100,000 meals through this event! These are the hours we will be open: Friday: 12-8pm Saturday: 10-7pm Sunday: 12-5pm We no longer have the late-night event on Fridays due to supply issues getting the graphic novels we would usually use as raffle prizes. It’s that time of year, and we have an art show theme again! This year’s Holiday Art Show to benefit the Greater Cleveland Food Bank is ….. “Spider-Verse!” Here’s how you participate! Stop by the shop and pick up a blank comic cover from us. They are free of charge and you can do two if you like. Please complete the cover with any medium you choose. (This includes digital! Many people now print their art out on cardstock and glue it to the book’s cover.) Give us your rendition of an alternative universe Spider-Man (or woman!) The artwork must be turned in by Sunday, December 11th at 5 pm. Please keep artwork to the front of the cover only, we only have the ability to display them this way. When you stop by to pick up a cover, please connect with an employee so they can take down your contact information. Happy Thanksgiving, Comic Shop Friends! We’ll be closed on Thursday for Thanksgiving. This is my second favorite holiday because I love a day of feasting and watching the MST3K Turkey Day Marathon. Our Black Friday weekend sale is this weekend! Friday the 25th through Sunday the 27th, we’re doing 50% off all back issues, 20% off statues and action figures, and 10% off everything else!
