Hey Comic Shop Friends! We’ve got a bunch of cool number ones this week and two timely tie-ins, so let’s get into it! MARVEL Prey, the new Predator movie, came out on Hulu last week. Kyle and I both watched it and thought it was great. Check out the trailer below. Marvel timed the release of Predator #1 to follow the release of the new film, and this is the first time they’ve held the license for Predator. Ed Brisson and Kev Walker have created a violent new chapter in the Predator saga with this six-issue miniseries. As a child, Theta sees her family murdered by a Predator. Now using stolen tech, she won’t stop stalking the deadliest hunters in the universe until the one who killed her family is dead. Or she is. Ms. Marvel & Wolverine #1 is the start of the saga of Kamala Khan’s superhero team-ups over the next couple of months. This month she teams up with Wolverine and the X-Men to help take down a mysterious insect threat in New York City. This is...

Hey there, Carol and John’s Shoppers! We’ve got a big week full of super heroics to end the month of July that we’re excited to share with you. Let’s jump in. DC Comics Ram V takes on Batman! The indie hit writer behind The Many Deaths of Laila Starr and These Savage Shores teams with superstar artist Rafael Albuquerque to begin a new era for the Dark Knight. “Something is terribly wrong with Batman. No matter the tests Bruce takes, nor the numbers he counts, the greatest detective in the world can’t pin down the source of this creeping dread—of his own inner demons and looming mortality. Meanwhile, real demons roam the shadows as an ancient melody haunts the Gotham night. Here now, the curtains rise, and as the eerie tune streams in… who is human, who is a demon, who is to tell? As Batman investigates Gotham’s songs and demons, he is forced to confront the oldest question… whether there has been a demon within him all along… and if so, what does it want?… and why hasn’t it...

Not-At-Comicon Sale and Eddie Munster at CNJComcs

It’s time for our yearly sale for all of us who are left behind while San Diego Comicon is in full swing, our ‘Not-At-Comicon’ sale! Running the exact dates as Comicon, July 21st to the 24th, our sale features two major discounts, 50% off ALL back issues and 10% off everything else in the shop. The biggest part of the sale is that it’s one of only two times during the year (the other being Black Friday weekend) that we take over the foyer attached to our shop and fill it with all the overstock we’ve accumulated over the year. This year we’ve set a record with over 160 long boxes going out, all at only $1.00 per book. (50 cents each for 100 or more, so be ready to dig.) While the books aren’t in perfect order, we do tend to throw them in the right direction to make digging easier. This Thursday, July 21st, the first day of the sale, will also be our first “Late Night Comics” event, where we clear off the new comic table and...
