Black Friday Weekend and Artists Wanted for Art Show

It’s time to make Black Friday great again. Again. Black Friday Details This year we will once again be extending Black Friday throughout the whole weekend, from Friday, November 26th to Sunday, November 28th. For the first time in a long time, we will be having 50% off all back issues in the shop! Over the last three months, we’ve gotten in three large Silver / Bronze collections that everyone has been enjoying. This will be the first time they will be at 50% off! There will be at least 20 long boxes of late Silver and early Bronze Marvels’s and DC’s to go through, and I add more books every day. A lot of the keys may be gone, but it’s time to enjoy the bread and butter books to help fill your collection at a great price. We will also be giving 10% off everything else in the shop! It’s worth noting that because of some foresight on our part, we do have a full inventory of all comic book collecting supplies, including bags and boards. (you know,...

Hey there, CNJ shoppers! Raf here welcoming everybody to a New Comic Book Day. December is here already!? Some of the year’s best comics come out in December usually, and this month is no exception. We’ve got a lot of great anniversary specials, some returning series, and one big epic of a Wonder Woman book all new this week. Let’s get into it. Marvel Comics This week marks the 750th issue of Avengers, and to celebrate is this week’s oversized Avengers #50. There is a whole lot to unpack in this $9.99 issue including: the conclusion to World War She-Hulk, the story of the Iron Inquisitor, a brand-new team of villains coming for our world including Kid [REDACTED] and Young [REDACTED], Robbie Reyes Ghost Rider receives a new multiversal quest, and new members join the team ALL IN THIS ISSUE. This is definitely not one to miss out on; written by Jason Aaron with a host of other artists as well. DC Comics Batman has the best rogues gallery in comics (yeah, I said it) and Gotham is the city...

Good morning CNJ Shoppers and Readers! It’s Turkey week, but that doesn’t mean we don’t have new comics. This time around there are a bunch of exciting new #1s! New graphic novels HIGHLY recommended by the staff and our huge Black Friday Sale and Local Comic Shop Day exclusives to cap off the holiday week. Marvel Comics Smashing into stores this week is the brand-new Donny Cates Hulk! We’ve been looking forward to this title for a while now and it does not disappoint. It picks up after the events of Immortal Hulk, which was a big character redefining series, but you don’t need to have read that title to be hooked (I didn’t read it). Cates’ writing is big and action-packed, and Ryan Ottley is the perfect artist for this series (he was the artist on Robert Kirkman’s Invincible and this is just as big). I could say more, but that would ruin some of the surprises. Do not miss out. “Secrets from T’Challa’s past have come back to haunt him! Fresh from returning from his travels in space,...

Good morning and Happy New Comic Book Day everyone! Things are certainly getting busy this time of year, between planning for Thanksgiving and the holidays, gifts, food, and travel, and making sure I’ve got new tires and brakes for the winter; all that on top of keeping up-to-date with the newest comics! There are a couple of biggies this week so let’s just dive in. DC Comics “The five heroes to have donned the Robin cape and mask find themselves at a crossroads in their lives. Dick Grayson, Jason Todd, Tim Drake, Stephanie Brown, and Damian Wayne come together to discuss the big thing that binds them together: Was being Robin, and Batman’s sidekick, the best choice they could’ve made? But before they can get to the heart of the matter, they’re ambushed by an unknown assailant with a bone to pick with them. She claims to have been the first Robin, and she’s out to prove Batman should’ve never trained any of them.” A cool new #1 written by Grayon co-writer Tim Seeley. It’s the book that broke the...

Hello CNJ shoppers, and Happy New Comic Book Day. I’m behind on all the hip shows the kids are watching these days, but I was curious and finally watched Squid Game this past week. Man, that was addicting! I liked it! It inspired me to go back and finally read Avengers Arena also. In it, the villain Arcade captures a bunch of Young Avengers and takes them to Murder World to recreate the movie Battle Royale in a game of death and survival. I just started, but X-23 is one of the players, so my money is on Laura. But in the meantime, there are some new books to check out this week. Let’s go. Marvel Comics One of Marvel’s most beloved characters gets a cool new miniseries in The Thing #1 this week. Written by novelist Walter Mosley, with art from Tom Reilly (I’m not familiar with either), “The Thing” is billing itself to be the new definitive Ben Grimm story. Marvel has been very tight-lipped on just what story this new series will tell. Honestly, Marvel’s miniseries have...

Howdy, everyone! Happy New Comic Book Day! Spooky season has passed, the leaves are changing, and the weather is getting colder, but there are always comics to keep you company. This week has a lot of great new titles and there is bound to be something for everyone to check out. Let’s see what’s good.   Marvel Comics In preparation for the new Disney+ series debuting later this year, revisit (or read for the first time if you’re like me) one of Marvel’s best series ever. It’s the entire Matt Fraction and David Aja Hawkeye run in one whole collection, and all for only $44.99. Along with mentioning that I’ve never seen Firefly, I get more dirty looks around the shop saying I haven’t read this than anything else. It’s that serious. Some of the guys might even say it is one of the best superhero books ever, with a great indie flavor as well. Grounding Clint Barton, Hawkeye, in a way that has only been duplicated since this series was about what the hero did when he wasn’t slinging arrows to save the universe and his relationship...
