It’s the final week of January and we’ve got a full line up of new comic releases! Here’s the featured new releases coming out this Wednesday, January 27th, 2021! DC Comics Comin’ ATCHA DC Future State has six new titles, including FS Aquaman #1, FS Dark Detective #2, FS Batman Superman #1, FS Suicide Squad #1, FS Legion of Superheroes and FS Superman vs Imperious Lex #1! Dark Detective will catch you up with what Bruce Wayne is doing, Suicide Squad looks like an evil rif on the Justice League, and Superman Vs Lex is by Mark Russell, who always puts an interesting spin on things. Batman Black and White #2 is out, with three different covers and stories by Tom King, Mitch Gerads, David Aja (Hawkeye and Iron Fist artist!) and many more! We really loved the first issue of The Other History of the DC Universe, and issue two will stand on it’s own merit as well as complimenting it.  Told from the point of view of marginalized DC heroes, this one features Bumblebee and Mal Duncan. I’m...

DC COMICS The Future State book I’ve been waiting for is Immortal Wonder Woman, as I’m a big fan of Jen Bartel’s art. (this will be her first interior art for DC) Diana Prince at the end of time. Back up story with Nubia. Two issue series at $5.99. We now know that Tim Fox, Lucius’ other son, is the new Future State Batman.  We ordered up on the Braithwaite variant because we knew it would be hot. Four issue series at $7.99. The other titles this week include FS Catwoman, FS Nightwing and FS Shazam, all two issue series at $3.99 each.  The first issue of Batman Catwoman was great, this was the Tom King book I wanted when the wedding went bad....

DC’s Future State is Here at CNJComics 1-6-2021

It’s a great start to the New Year, with a beginning and an end at DC, as well as some great Marvel books and Crossover #3 as well! Here’s the featured new releases coming out this Wednesday, January 6th, 2021! DC’s Future State While it’s been a crazy ride, Dark Nights Death Metal ends on a high note, with a really heartfelt final issue.  The series has been a commentary on the state of DC Comics, from big crossovers to the mess they’ve made with continuity over the years. Rest assured that at the end of this book, it’s reinforced that all the stories matter. The whole issue just felt very comforting.  Another stray comic left over from whatever Dan Didio was going to do with his now dead DC5G project was the $9.99 Generations Shattered One Shot.  A team is pulled together from across the Multiverse to tell the history of the DC Universe. (I did not get to read this issue yet, so I’m just going with the copy.) Now let’s jump into the six Future State books...
