Featured New Releases for 3-20-2019

We’ve got some super fun stuff this week as well as some pretty epic books on the horizon. Here’s the featured new releases coming out this Wednesday, March 20th, 2019! FEATURED RELEASES I’m really excited about this one, Chip Zdarsky has proven his worth at Marvel over the past couple of years, and this looks to be a highlight of his work. Spider-Man Life Story #1 starts an odyssey that will take Peter Parker across six decades in a six issues mini-series, aging appropriately as he goes along. Peter’s 15 years old in 1962, and will be 72 when the story hits modern day. Great concept that Chip will nail, and he has Ultimate Spider-Man alumi Mark Bagley on board to do the artwork. While we’re on the subject of Spider-Man, this week also sees the launch of an entirely new universe with Spider-Man City at War #1. This book will take place in the new video game’s universe! This week we have another first, Conan will be crossing over with the Avengers in Avengers No Road Home #6. Specifically,...

Winston World and Featured New Releases for 3-6-2019

Before we get started, a quick shout out to our Winston World event, which is going on in shop during that other thing going on downtown, Wizard World. We keep in really simple with this one, from March 8th-10th you get: 50% off Back Issues 10% off Everything else in the shop. (Yes, we mean everything.) Winston World is in place in case you don’t find what you’re looking for down there or you just plain don’t want to go. It’s expensive, but we do have a code for you for 20% off you tickets. “CNJCOMICS” (We heard some people were having issues with the code but Wizard says they’ve fixed it sooooo…give it a try.) I’ll be headed down there on Sunday with the family to go Pop Fun hunting and to sit in the Mystery Machine. (The heart wants what the heart wants) FEATURED COMICS Here’s the featured new releases coming out this Wednesday, March 6th, 2019. My favorite TV Show (now that True Detective is over) is Deadly Class, produced by the Russo Brothers and based on...

Valentine’s Day Sale at CNJComics

Valentine’s Day Sale at CNJComics

Here we go!  For Valentine’s Day this year we’ll be offering 50% off all back issues from Thursday, February 14th to Saturday, February 16th! This is our VALENTINE to YOU!  VALENTINE’S WEEKEND SALE This will be a big one for many reasons.  According to Jim, all of the DC’s have been refilled with everything we’ve got. This is a project that has taken almost a year. There are actually four boxes of DC stuff that will be on the side because they don’t fit in with the rest of the stock, it’s full to the brim.   We still have lots of key back issues up, and they will absolutely by 50% off as well.  Over the holidays we processed three collections and they keys went up right away, now we’ve got some of the good common stock going out.  We’re putting out some new dollar stock as well. It’s Valentine’s Day and your significant other should understand that this is what YOU need to do during the holiday, not a romantic dinner. That you love going through back issues and getting...

Featured New Releases for 2-6-2019 and Valentine’s Sale

Before we begin, here’s a quick shout out for our “WE LOVE OUR CUSTOMERS” Valentine’s Sale! A big part of it is that we’ve been refilling the back issues at such a rapid rate that they’re full. Like to the brim. So we’ve got to stimulate some sales and that means… 50% off ALL Back issues from February 14th to the 16th! We were going to wait until Wizard World Cleveland, but from looking at their website we can’t even tell if it’s happening or not. No guest list yet? What? We bought three large collections at the end of last year, and all anyone has really seen are the big ticket books, we’re now finally going through and refilling the common stock. This is also creating some new dollar stock, as some people know from having to enjoy going through them already. The 14th is also a pretty big day for me as it will be my 25th anniversary serving with the fire department. So yeah, let’s do three days of back issues. NEW RELEASES Alright, now on to...

Featured New Releases for 1-30-2019 at CNJComics

Featured New Releases for 1-30-2019 at CNJComics

It’s a fifth Wednesday of the month, which typically means a smaller week filled with one-shots, annuals, and mini-series.  We’ve also got some pretty fun new kids books too.  Here are the featured new releases for Wednesday, January 30th, 2019! The X-Men Universe has been reset, and we’ll have a look at what’s to come in the Age of X-Man Alpha One Shot, pointing the way to next month’s multiple mini-series.  Somehow, using Marvel math, Doctor Strange has his 400th issue this week, even though it’s numbered 10.  Extra size issue with art by classic artists like Nowlan, Guice, and Acuna.  Detective is on the way to its 1000th issue, and #997 is out this week.  This is more of a call out to get your Detective #1000 orders in. Just like with Action #1000, there will be decades variants, and you can get what you’d like in your file if you just ask! Check this out for images! One of the best DC books out there right now is Heroes in Crisis, and it’s more than a bit depressing. A good...

Featured New Releases for 1-23-2019

Featured New Releases for 1-23-2019

It’s been a while since we’ve had a full on new release email, what with events during the holidays and wrapping up year-end stuff. So hey! Here’s the featured new releases coming out this Wednesday, January 23rd, 2019. NEW RELEASES The big book of the week is Donny Cates’ new Guardians of the Galaxy #1! With a huge cast of Marvel Cosmic Characters to help fill the lineup! If you can’t get enough of Cates, we’ve got a graphic novel of Cosmic Ghost Rider this week. If you’ve never read it, Cosmic Ghost Rider is Frank Castle (The Punisher) who became Ghost Rider who became a herald of Galactus who became Thanos’ lackey. It’s great stuff. BOOM Studios has taken over the beloved Buffy the Vampire Slayer license, and under the guidance of Joss Whedon, will be reimagined in the modern day and back in High School. The core motifs of Buffy are both timeless and very 90’s at the same time, so it’ll be interesting to see this play out. Bendis’ new ‘WONDER’ imprint from DC had a really...
