Free Comic Book Day 2025 at CNJComics

It’s that time of year again! Free Comic Book Day returns to Cleveland on Saturday, May 3rd, from 10 am to 7 pm! This is our 24th year hosting a Free Comic Book Day event! (yes, we’ve been doing it since its inception in 2002, when Sam Raimi’s first Spider-Man film came out.) Everyone attending this year will be able to pick out 12 books from the 45 titles that are being offered. We will be using the same space as last year, the old tanning salon 50 feet from the shop. This is our favorite spot we’ve ever used due to its close proximity to the store. It’s been a tough year so far, and quite a few FCBD books have been canceled due to Diamond’s bankruptcy and impending tariffs. (a vast majority of comics are printed in Canada) Rest assured, we’re on top of everything we can do and will have every available free comic book and then some. Andrea’s Pre-Free Comic Book Day Picks for 04.30.2025

Are you ready for Free Comic Book Day, friends? It’s this Saturday! Two days before my birthday, and you’re all getting the gift of free comics! Saturday, May 3rd! 10 am to 7 pm! It’s the best day of the year! It’s Free Comic Book Day! We are very pleased to announce that every title we ordered has arrived! There were some little hiccups with orders and distributors, but they are all here and ready for Saturday! We’re setting up in the same space as last year (the old tanning salon), and you’ll be able to pick out twelve free books from the 40-some titles offered. There’s something for everyone, and readers of all ages. We’ll have the books separated on the tables by “all ages”, “teen”, and “adult.” Also, in the FCBD room, there will be about 20 local artists and vendors set up, so make sure to take a couple of laps and check them out. Last Minute Free Comic Book Day Updates For CNJComics

Hi! Here is your final Free Comic Book Day Email with things to clarify and add! First up, to clarify. Chris Claremont will be signing from 10am to 7pm in the foyer next to the shop, so you will be lining up in a seperate place to see him. He will be taking a lunch break when he needs to and we will cut his line at 6pm, meaning we will add no more people to it at 6pm. Act accordingly! We had a lot of people ask about having Tom Orzechowski out for Free Comic Book Day. He’s a living legend and likely the most prolific letterer in the history of comics. (And he’s a Wednesday regular now.) Tom lettered Claremont’s X-Men run, and he also has the Guinness World Record for ‘Most issues as a letterer for the same comic book series.’ for Spawn. New Releases and FCBD Updates for 4-24-2019

Alright, we’re all getting ready for Free Comic book Day 2019, but here’s a quick email with some updates, new releases and info. Expect the final FCBD email next week. For now you can check all the information we have right Here! WE’VE NEW COLLECTIONS! The big news is that we bought a pretty major collection, mostly 50’s and 60’s Batman and Superman DC’s. This includes associated titles like Detective, Action, Adventure, Superboy, World’s Finest, Lois Lane, and Jimmy Olson. There’s also lots of other fun stuff like Showcases, Justice Leagues, and lots more. There were also a handful of Marvel’s like the Fantastic Four, Strange Tales, Tales of Suspense and others.  Sorry for the shiney pictures, again, we have lots to do here. We have processed most of the keys and these books are ready to be looked at. About two long boxes are out, and we hope to have three more ready by Free Comic Book Day. Featured New Releases for 5-9-2018

We’re cleaning up the shop after an incredibly successful Free Comic Book Day. We’ll have our annual thank you email along with links to a bunch of image galleries, but for now let’s sneak in some featured new releases. Here’s the featured new releases coming out this Wednesday, May 9th, 2018! First up is easy, the new Venom series by Donny Cates! Hot of his run on Thanos and Doctor Strange, Cates has slid over to Venom to give the title some panache before the movie comes out in October this year. Here’s the trailer: Scott Snyder will be writing the new Justice League ongoing next month, but this week starts a weekly four issue mini series also written by him.  Justice League No Justice will help define the new format of the team! We gave out a thousand copies of Brian K Vaughan’s Barrier for FCBD, and issue #2 of this weekly series comes out this week.
