Marvel Omnibus Sale and Free Doctor Strange Movie Poster

We’ve got some cool product on the table and some cool specials and giveaways to go with it!

Here’s the featured new releases coming out this Wednesday, February 22, 2017.

We’re going to hit you with the giveaway right-a-way.

Doctor Strange says…

Stop by the shop on Wednesday and we’ll have a FREE full sized Doctor Strange Movie Poster and Eye of Agamotto keychain for the first 100 people. You know, to celebrate the release of the movie on DVD next Tuesday.

Marvel decided to liquidate some of their Omnibuses, and we were lucky enough to put our order in early enough that we actually got some. (They went pretty fast) These huge editions will be sold for 50% off retail. We’ve got quite a few different one’s, but here’s four we went long on because with believe in them so much:

27 issues of Rick Remender’s Uncanny Avengers run with art by pretty much everyone. For me, this is the best modern Avengers story of the last ten years. Remender handles a multi villain epic with believability and clear motivation. Harkens back to the Shooter/Michelinie era, and even has a visual homage that lines up with the classic Avengers Annual 10. Very dense and well worth the read. Regular $99.99 for only $50.00!

Trying to get ready for Jack Kirby’s 100th birthday? Here’s a huge tomb of all the Lee and Kirby stuff, and even all the Steranko stuff as well. EVERYTHING! Same deal, regular $99.99 for only $50.00!

The Guardians of the Galaxy Solo Classic Omnibus is just the thing you need to get ready for the new movie in May! Old the old solo stuff from the characters from the 1960’s and 70’s. Smoke a joint and get cosmic with the Marvel Universe. Regular $125 for only $62.50.

No way could the entire Fraction/Aja run of Hawkeye be on the liquidation list! Well it was true believers. All 22+ issues of this incredible run for only $50, regular $99.99! (We’ve also got copies of the complete Matt Fraction Fantastic Four Omnibus in as well as a slew of others!)

Okay, we can tell you a little about what’s new this week now! (finally!)

Not everyone is following Captain America Steve Rogers, but they should be. Everything Nick Spencer is spinning in this book will lead into the big Secret Empire storyline this summer. (Beginning on Free Comic Book Day with a free special!) Not always action heavy and not everyone’s cup of tea, but I’ve really been enjoying it. That crazy Hail Hydra idea really turned into something.

Plus, the Taskmaster is in this issue, and I just won a Taskmaster Shield in the Comic Book Legal Defense Fund Charity Auction in Memphis at the ComicsPro meeting!

The Shield was donated by Patrick Bower of Challengers Comics in Chicago and is one of a kind, made by the guy who makes Alex Ross’ props for his models. We’ll have it around the shop for photo ops and we’ll specifically be bringing it out to our first appearance at Cleveland ConCoction on March 11th. We’ll be putting together a photo booth with some of our best stuff, including the Ghostbusters pack, Thor’s Hammer and Cap’s Shield.

This week is also the release of the new Dark Crystal 12 issue maxi series from BOOM Studios!

Written by Simon Spurrier, this series and a sequel to the original movie!

Ron Richie, the founder of BOOM Studios, gave the keynote speech at the ComicsPro meeting this year, and it was heartfelt and meaning full to retailers.

He was even nice enough to take Jim where to buy Cialis and I out to dinner where Jim watched me eat Memphis Barbeque. (He’s a vegetarian.) Not a fan of dry rub.

Here’s another list of things that went down at the meeting. (Take it with a grain of salt, it’s from Bleeding Cool.)

Finally, if you’ve been getting the FREE books by Robert Kirkman for Image’s 25th Anniversary, we’ve got another one for you this week, Outcast #25.

This is a great book, and a great television show as well. Think Walking Dead style mythology, but with a focus on Possession. Season One is complete, and season two will be out soon.

We’ll be giving out this book FREE with any purchase this week to people of age.

Okay, that’s it! We’ll see you this week at the shop!
