Final Days of Holiday Sale and Art Show Results

We are proud to announce that with your help our yearly art show for the Greater Cleveland Food Bank has set a new record! This year we we will be able to assist the Food Bank in creating 20,360 meals to those in need. (The previoud record was 14,276.) To put that record in perspective, they can serve a meal every minute non stop for two weeks straight, so please give yourself a round of applause.) We learned alot this year and some of the changes that have been made due to CoVid will remain in place next year. Our Facebook Live Show went off without a hitch really, and it was really fun to see everyone in the audience.  Even if you didn’t win a cover you still win big by being a part of this effort. Thanks to the artists who contributed their time and talents, and thank to everyone who bought tickets or spread the word about the show. We know that even though 2020 left you alot of free time, it didn’t really feel like it,...

Holiday Pandemic Art Show at CNJComics Dec 16th-20th

Holiday Pandemic Art Show at CNJComics Dec 16th-20th

Just because we can’t have a Holiday Party doesn’t mean we can’t have an Art Show! Everyone year we reach out to Cleveland’s Art Community to help us put together an art show to help the Cleveland Food Bank, who have the amazing ability to turn one dollar into four full meals for those in need. (and the need is currently greater than ever.) Local artists turn blank comic covers into works of art that can be won through a basket raffle system where one dollar gets you one ticket towards the cover of your choice. In the past this has been a one day show where the winners are drawn at the end of the night at our yearly customer appreciation party.  Due to CoVid-19 this year the show will extend over five days and winners will be drawn on a Facebook Live stream to help offset the traffic in the shop at any one time.  This year’s theme is ‘The Pandemic’ and artists were tasked with creating covers combining the CoVid-19 life with their favorite comic book characters. ...

We’ll have another email this week laying it all out but for now please mark your calendar!  On to this week’s new releases! DC Comics In December DC is completing it’s current incarnation to give way to less continuity in 2021 and beyond. It likely means I very different DCU after the new year, even beyond the Future Slate books coming out in January and February. To that avail, lots of heroes have their final moments in this weeks Dark Nights Death Metal Last Stories of the DC Universe One Shot. They’ll still be around, but they might never be the same again.  From Superman by Mark Waid to Green Arrow and Black Canary by Gail...

Featured New Releases for 12-2-2020

First off we’d like to thank everyone for all the support over Thanksgiving Weekend. We miss having our old Black Friday event but we still had a great weekend with your help.   Everyone did a great job of helping to keep our CoVid protocols intact, and we thank you for that. MARVEL This week the big book is The King in Black #1, the culmination of two years of Donny Cates writing Venom, and it involves the entire Marvel Universe. Five issue mini series with lots of covers to choose from. It’s fun to see Eddie Brock finally take his place among the Marvel Heroes, and you can see even Cap and Iron Man showing him respect here. Plus, Donny Cates! DC BOOKS DC’s big book is my pick of the week, Batman Catwoman #1. This book is everything the Tom King Batman run was and should have been. Crossing three timelines, past, present and future, this twelve issue mini series traces Selina and Bruce’s relationship across the years. Black Label book too, so anything goes. You’d be hard...
