Greetings Carol and John’s Comic Shoppers! It’s a new month which means the monthly cycle of comics resets. All is right in the world… the world of comics that is at least. This weekend is our big Winston World sale (more on that later) and we’ve got a GREAT week of new comics to celebrate the occasion. DC especially has a big week this week as they prepare for the new Batman movie’s premiere in just a few short days. I’ll be out of town this weekend going to Niagara Falls, but I made sure my girlfriend knew that that didn’t mean she’d get to miss out on her boy Robert Pattinson on the big screen. CNJComics is conducting its first-ever open hiring! We’re looking for someone to work Tuesdays to help with new comic shipments and learn about what it takes to work in a comic book shop. This one-day-a-week job can lead to more hours and full-time employment. Applications should be returned to the shop in person so we can get a look at you! Tuesday Job Description: Carol and John’s Comic Book Shop It is typically a ten-hour workday starting at 10:30 am. We receive our shipments and proceed to organize and check them in. Included in these shipments are new products as well as restock. The employee will be a part of opening and sorting boxes, recording new stuff for inventory, sorting books into subscription files, and finding the proper spots for special orders and re-orders. We strive to keep the store in working order throughout the day. We make sure that cardboard and other packing supplies are properly disposed of and recycled, keeping the store orderly and shoppable for customers throughout. 10, 9, 8, 7…. Hey there, Carol and John’s Comic Shoppers. Raf here checking in before the end of 2021. It’s been a wild year, hasn’t it? We’ve all gone and grown up a little bit again. And so has the shop! We’ve hired a few new faces full-time and a fun, new, rotating cast of folks for the Weekend Warriors too. Events at the shop have been big, including our massive Free Comic Book Day with Chris Claremont we had during the summer. How crazy was that line, amiright?. And ultimately, we got to read a lot of great comics. Which, you know, is pretty cool. I’m sure many of you are experiencing a bit of a chaotic race to the finish line, but we’ve got one last round of new comics for the year. Hello Cleveland! We’d like to wish you a Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays! Thank you for a very successful Holiday Art Show! Thanks to your support we were able to assist the Greater Cleveland Food Bank in creating 17,704 meals for those in need! We had a very fun live stream drawing all the winners which turned into a CNJComics variety show you can still watch here on Facebook! It’s a great way to meet the entire staff! Thanks to all the artists who donated their time and skills, thanks to the customers for showing up and buying tickets, and my thanks to the staff for bringing it all together. Congrats to all of our winners too! We are open regular hours till year-end with a few minor exemptions. We are closed on Christmas Day, and we will also be closed on New Year’s Day. Yes, we will be open till 8 pm on Christmas Eve for all your last-minute shopping needs. It’s only a little over a week away! Our Holiday Art Show to benefit the Greater Cleveland Food Bank begins on Wednesday, December 15th! We’ve been rounding up submissions but there’s still time to do a cover and support the cause. The due date is Sunday, December 12th, so that we have a few days to scan the covers and get the show together. You can pick up a free blank cover at the shop, just ask at the counter. This year’s theme is “What If…?” which has a lot of possible directions it can be taken in. Here are a few of this year’s submissions: Stop by the shop between December 15th and the 19th and check out the covers in the foyer next to the shop. Covers are won through a basket raffle system where one dollar gets you one ticket towards the cover of your choice! Just buy the tickets at the counter, write your name and contact number on them and drop them in the numbered bag that matches the cover you want. It’s that simple!...

It’s time to make Black Friday great again. Again. Black Friday Details This year we will once again be extending Black Friday throughout the whole weekend, from Friday, November 26th to Sunday, November 28th. For the first time in a long time, we will be having 50% off all back issues in the shop! Over the last three months, we’ve gotten in three large Silver / Bronze collections that everyone has been enjoying. This will be the first time they will be at 50% off! There will be at least 20 long boxes of late Silver and early Bronze Marvels’s and DC’s to go through, and I add more books every day. A lot of the keys may be gone, but it’s time to enjoy the bread and butter books to help fill your collection at a great price. We will also be giving 10% off everything else in the shop!
