Happy Valentine’s Day Comic Shop Friends! Would you like a lovely week of comics to celebrate? Need a new title to fall in love with? We’d love to recommend our favorites, so come in the shop and pick up some comics! First, a note from John: My daughter, Zoe, is going to shave her head on March 6th to raise funds and bring awareness to Blood Cancer United as part of a school project. This was all her idea, and as her father, I’m a bit scared for her, but she has my full support and her confidence levels are high. I am very proud that she picked up on a lot of what the shop represents over the years. (It helps that she’s a big Lex Luthor fan too.) Blood Cancer United (formerly the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society) has a mission to cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin’s disease, and myeloma while improving the quality of life for patients and their families. The organization aims to enable patients to gain more than one million years of life by 2040 through research,...

Merry Christmas Comic Shop Friends! We will be closed on the 25th, Christmas Day, but Ben has decided to stay until 8pm on the 24th as his gift to you! It’s a regular Wednesday, and Santa must have decided we’ve all been good this year, because Ho-Ho-Holy crap is it an Absolute Knockout of a week! We’ll get to that, but first some news! Thank you, thank you, thank you, to all of you who donated art and all of you who donated for raffle tickets! We’re always trying to beat the previous year’s record when we do our Holiday Art Show, and damn you delivered! This year’s dollar total is $10,361, which will become 31,083 meals for the Greater Cleveland Food Bank! That is amazing! We could not have done it without you, so thank you again for every dollar you donated! And because that puts us all on the nice list, we’re extending 50% off back issues until the end of the year! There’s still time to pick some up as a gift, and now you can use...

Here’s some final information on this year’s Holiday Art Show, benefiting the Greater Cleveland Food Bank, as well as details on our sale and Holiday Party! First up, we’ve got a new Holiday Print this year from Jameson! In the spirit of our art show theme (Superheroes in Cleveland), we’ve reimagined the first Marvel / DC Crossover from 1976, this time set on top of the Terminal Tower downtown! These prints are 11×17 on cardstock paper and are free with any purchase starting today! Supplies are limited, but we hope to have enough to make it to the Holiday Party (and hopefully up until Christmas.) The art show starts this Wednesday and lasts until Saturday. We’ve got some great covers in so be sure to stop by and check them out. It’s a basket raffle system where one dollar gets you one ticket towards the cover of your choice. All the proceeds go to the Greater Cleveland Food Bank. We hope to get our lifetime total to 200,000 meals created this year! Here’s a look at some of the covers!...

Happy Holiday Party week Comic Shop Friends! John has updates and more details for the Holiday Art Show and fundraiser, the sale, and the party, HERE! I’ll do a brief reminder about what’s happening this week! Hope your back issue wish lists are updated because the 50% off back issues starts now! All back issues, including the wall, are 50% off Wednesday the 17th through Wednesday the 24th! That’s one full week of back issue bargains! The Holiday Art Show is up too! From the 17th through the Holiday Party on Saturday the 20th, you can stop in to view all the submissions that we’ll be raffling off at 10:30pm during the party. Raffle tickets can be purchased one for $1, or six for $5, and every single dollar raised goes directly to the Greater Cleveland Food Bank! They can turn $1 into three full meals, so each and every dollar donated makes an impact on hunger in our community. You can buy tickets starting on the 17th until right before we start to draw tickets at 10:30pm at the...

Here’s all the info on this year’s Holiday Party / Art Show / Sale / and Fund Raiser for the Greater Cleveland Food Bank! This year’s art show theme is “Superheroes in Cleveland!” We’ve been hosting our Holiday Art Show since 2012, and we consider it to be one of the most important things we do every year, a great way to unite the community that has built up around the shop for the greater good. Since its inception, we’ve assisted the Greater Cleveland Food Bank in creating over 185,000 meals for those in need during the holidays and beyond. (That’s a real number, too.) The Food Bank has the amazing ability to turn one dollar into three full meals, so every dollar you put into the system in the art show has a very direct result you can measure. Our art show is where local artists create custom comic book covers that we display in the foyer attached to our shop from Wednesday, December 17th to Saturday, December 20th. These covers can be won in a basket raffle system,...
